Can I use this for a floor lamp in my bedroom that won't reach the outlet that turns on and off the light by the wall switch? I'm assuming It will be just fine and I wanted it in black. Please advise.

BEST ANSWER: You sure can. I have various uses for these nifty extension cords. As a matter of fact I also use it for a floor lamp. I have never experienced any voltage issues. You will be alright.
