Standard Ethernet patch cable w/ boot. Performs as expected. Deployed as part of an RJ-45 to Serial system of over 200 units. No problems throughout shipment.

I bought four of the short patch cords for my ethernet application. They were cheap and well made which is why I always buy such things from Monoprice.

Monoprice's measurement refers to the distance between the ends of the two connectors so the cable itself only about 5 inches long. That's an important distinction since the cable's male connectors are inserted into female adaptors.

These were supposed to be 6" long Ethernet cables. It turned out they were 6" from tip of connector to tip of connector. They actual cable was only 4" which was too short for my application.

I bought these to replace a bunch of CAT5 patch cables that were of various lengths. I wanted shorter CAT5e patch cables to make the switch look neater. These did the trick but I expected the 0.5FT to be the cable length before the connectors we added.

PROS: excellent quality connectors and cable, works great at gigabit speeds

CONS: length includes connectors, I thought it was 0.5 FT of cable with connectors on the end, can be tight fit between components, would get 1.0FT next time but I do like the clean look of the shorter cables
