How is the bookshelf speaker supposed to be secured to the top plate of the stand?

BEST ANSWER: I have arendal 1723 monitor S attached with blue tac. Very solid connection and also provides isolation from the stand. I have bumped into one speaker several times and no movement. I also filed the stands with play sand and they are solid as a rock. Also the top plate rotates which makes for easy adjustments to toe in.

Use Blu-Tak or Fun-Tak, or some such putty, then press down.

BEST ANSWER: You just set the speaker on the stand. No need to "secure" it.

Nice solid stand!

Very solid - spikes are 'optional' - someone mentioned you can 'sand fill' the legs- but I used a 'Pyle isolation pad' instead. Top plate swivels - and can be locked in position with included allen wrench. Recommended! .
