How do you Tilt?
Michael S
on Jan 3, 2023
BEST ANSWER: The bracket will swivel manually left/right but I don't believe it will tilt. With the motorized action forward and down, tilting up/down shouldn't be necessary.
I've had mine installed for a few weeks now and it works great -- very smooth and barely audible.

This mount does not tilt up and down. However, if the TV is lowered to near eye level, there is no need to tilt. It does feature the ability to swivel the tv from left to right though.

BEST ANSWER: It's only meant for 16" studs. And you don't want to install it in the drywall with only anchors or toggle bolts, it will rip the drywall apart.
Some people have put 2x4s across their wall to bridge the studs. Maybe paint them so it looks aesthetic

I meant the distance from bottom of the wall mounted portion to the top of the TV plate when the arm is in the up/upright position (not extended) and the is closest to the wall.
I meant the distance from bottom of the wall mounted portion to the top of the TV plate when the arm is in the up/upright position (not extended) and the Tv and arm are closest to the wall. That is not when the arm is out with the TV positioned down, but when it is in what could be considered the "stored" position.

Can this tv bracket function outdoors?

BEST ANSWER: the mount is powered by a regular 120 volt AC plug. Both the electrical cord and the movement mechanism have no special weatherproofing features .
I could imagine it would work in a heavily sheltered patio, just like if you feel comfortable having a television in there. But if it's directly exposed to any sort of water, I think it would break.

The side profile of my fireplace is very visible from my front door/living room. The side profile appearance of this TV/mount is important. When in the most upright position, how close/far is the rear of the TV from the wall? Also, in that position, does the TV stay completely vertical to the wall, or is there a tilt/sagging appearance?

on May 27, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I have the manual version so I can't speak to the motorized. For mine, the TV definitely tilts down when it is in the farthest upright position, and it's a good distance away from the wall. Based on your description, I don't think you will like it. The motorized one looks quite a bit different than the manual one, so maybe that one is better.

How deep of a mantle will this work with? Mine is over the 350 mm guides in the installation documentation (387 mm). Worried that means it won't be able to clear the mantle, or if it would, it wouldn't go much lower to get the better viewing angle.

Can the tv be lowered while burning the fireplace?
A shopper
on Jul 7, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I think there is an inherent danger up or down while having a fire. Much of the heat from the fire place rises so some of the heat could pass by while in the lower position. I suppose you could hang a thermometer from both locations while the fire was burning and see what type of temps you get. I think most people that have their TVs mounted over the fireplace usually don't use the fireplace. It is more decorative or the fire place doesn't put off much heat and is more for an aesthetic appeal. I would never use a wood burning fireplace with a tv over the top. Too much heat and soot. I have this mount and never have our gas fireplace running while the tv is on and we leave it in the up position if this is the case. The mantel seems to block some of the heat.

I had a professional electrician install my large tv on this motorized mount. I must say the mount is absolutely stunning! Via the remote, the mount can be lowered over my fireplace and repositioned back to its original position over the mantle against the wall. The motor has a soft low purring sound which sounds very classy.
All my friends were awestruck by this unique motorized mount. The remote also has a feature where u can customize the lowering distance if u want to.
Overall, I was very impressed by this mount and their customer service told me that it carries a lifetime warranty.
The only thing I am worried about is that if the motor ever dies out, the tv will be stuck at that particular location. Being hydraulic, it cannot be pushed back to the wall. Also, my electrician took $200 to install. So even if they replace the mount, I have to incur that expense again.
Let's hope the motor does not die out since we don't use it too much.
Overall it is an amazing product!!

Awesome Mount
Works great. The instructions are a bit sparse, but if you look at other sites that sell the exact mount for an extra $100 the instructions are the same but have words with them that really helps. Wish I had figured that out first. Caution: if you have a sloped ceiling Like I do, be sure the top corner will not hit the ceiling at the maximum top position. You can program a high and low position but as far as I can tell there are a few reset times when it will go all the way to the limit switch no matter what you do. https://youtu.be/WSDufy1orpA
Drilling in the brick is TERRIBLE but that's true no matter what mount you have.

Just what I needed
Like in many homes, the mantel over my fireplace is entirely too high to place my TV. Because the center of the tv should be as close to the eye line as possible, that meant either putting a TV stand in front of the fireplace, or getting a pull-down mount. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this motorized mount that was extremely well-priced. The ability to preset it's apex and bottom positions were also important so the mount doesn't collide with the center speaker on the wall. It's also very convenient that it can rotate and swivel (note that these movements are not motorized)
All considered, this was a great purchase.

Good
Installation is relatively straightforward. The up and down motion is smooth and quiet. I appreciate the cable guide along the arm. Seems well thought out. So long as the motor is reliable I am a very happy customer. One minor quibble is that the remote has left/right arrows that do nothing. I would rather there not be nonfunctional buttons on the remote.
