Are the dimensions correct on this? Is it really 19.5" wide (or 1/2" wider than a standard rack)? Seems weird that this thing is a lot larger than the massive 8x100watt Monolith amps.

Subwoofers require more power. While this Amp is awesome at powering 90 watts continuous through 7 channels, its not bridgeable to be used as a monoblock for a subwoofer.

For an extremely small subwoofer, maybe. It puts out 90 W per channel, and is meant for main and surround speakers. For most subwoofers, 90 W is not adequate.

Why are XLR inputs not balanced?
A shopper
on Feb 12, 2024
BEST ANSWER: I asked a Similar question only to get the simple/concise answer " For convenience" --
-- to elaborate on this or bring more to this answer is, maybe your preamp has XLR Outs and you already have the cables so it's convenient to have the inputs already on the dedicated amp. I know, you're likely think how I think, that if it has RCA unbalanced and XLR inputs as well, why not make them Balanced. I Don't know. The only answer I've gotten is it's for convenience. I Think the example I Gave is one of the only good examples. -- Hope this helps, it would of been better/ok to have the XLR's be Balanced, but maybe.. maybe that would of increased the price more.
Good Luck.

Balanced inputs require additional circuitry and costs. Since this is a low cost amplifier, I suspect that Monoprice did not include actual balanced input to keep the prices down and providing unbalanced XLR connection as a convenience for those that want them. I own one of these and use it to drive my rear surrounds and 4 Atmos speakers. I am using it with a 5 channel amp that has balanced inputs and I am completely satisfied.

Does this amplifier have fans in it? Also are there any internal pictures of it available? Lastly there has been some discussion if this amplifier's balanced inputs are truly balanced or not. Would appreciate answers to all three of these questions!

What is the input sensitivity of this amplifier?
A shopper

Thanks for your quick response.
I was actually referring to the Input sensitivity in terms of Vrms. I'm currently pairing this amp, as well as a Monolith 7x amp, to the Monolith HTP-1 processor.
I was able to find the 7x's input sensitivity in its user manual (1.67 Vrms) but was not able to find such info in the M7100X's user manual/documentation. I need to know the info so I can set the HTP-1's Max Output Level properly. Thanks!

Great sound!
I bought this amp to power my 7.1 setup as I was looking to upgrade from my Yamaha htr-6080 and go with a separate power amp and processor. When I hooked it up to the pre outs on my receiver my speakers came alive, I can now hear much more than I could with just the receiver, nice clean sound. I am getting much more from the surround speakers than I previously did with just the Yamaha receiver. I thought originally that I would loose some volume output from this amp being that it is only 90 watts and my receiver is 120 watts but it is not the case, this amp is still plenty loud.

Surpassed my expectations
Evolution of Audio design and electronic manufacturing has steadily improved to a point of no return.
Pros:
I consider the Monolith M7100X a true 7x90 Watts Per Channel Seven-Channel Home Theater Amplifier which may be used as a Stereo amplifier to drive bi-amp capable speakers. A Serious Contender for a modern day home Theater, the M7100 packs a lot of punch, detailed resolution with Hi-Res music and movie soundtracks.
All genres of music played well with all frequencies amplified in linear articulation. Bass to High Brilliance was amplified in workout sessions without any distortion and with clarity surpassing all my older amplifiers.
Cons:
Low level hum is detected on channels audible at idle and at lower volume. Other than this minor issue.
Music sources were streamed via Amazon Music, Pandora, AppleMusic, YouTube The Ultimate Demonstration Chesky Records.
Martin Logan Electromotion in 4way system with B&C 12" woofer, Focal M300 in wall Aurum Cantus Tweeter.
