Will it register the added displays as 2 individual displays so it can be extended, or will it simply make the 2 added displays as mirrors?

BEST ANSWER: For PC’s it will extend. For Macs it will mirror only.

Windows 10, v21H2 - it registers as 2 individual displays. I haven't tried it on other OSes but I believe it would function similarly.

It will register as 2 separate displays (not mirrored). Though it does support the option to mirror to them as well if you would like.

Yes, it will register as two different displays. Depending on your computers setting they can be extended displays or mirrored.

Works great, with a caveat

At first, this didn't seem to work at all with my laptop. If I plugged in two DP cables, only one would work at a time. So I thought it was broken. Then I used it on my work laptop and it worked instantly and perfectly. Turns out my personal laptop doesn't support two displays in one USB-c port. So this works great IF your device supports it.

Third Screen

Added third screen to work setup. Have not tried running two screens at once from this device, but for one ultrawide it works great. Plug and play, no messing around with installing software

I used this device to add a third screen to my work setup, works great for a single 3440x1440 screen

Doesn't Work with My Laptop

This adapter doesn't work with my Dell Precision running Linux. My laptop works with other passive USB-C and Thunderbolt Displayport alt mode adapters, so I was surprised that this one didn't work despite using the same protocol. I do not believe the product was defective, because it works with my secondary Windows laptop.
