Does this work "automatically" with Teams / Skype / Vonage? IE, if I press mute on the headset, does the app mute?

BEST ANSWER: It does not pass a 'mute' condition to an application. It does illuminate an LED on the body of the controller when muted, so you can tell. The rest of the world still thinks you're live. And since it has a TRRS plug, it will attach directly to your MacBook or PC's 1/8" jack.

I use this with Teams - using mute on the headset does mute you, but does not change the icon in Teams window.

Generally no. The app’s mute function is independent of the headset’s mute button.

Can the USB adapter be used with other headsets? If, say, I get this and the headset is uncomfortable, can I use the USB adapter with a different 1/8" headset?

BEST ANSWER: Microphone is very quiet on this headset. I am constantly told people can barely hear me on calls. Doesn't answer your question, but I would not buy. Buy Logitech with USB instead

Yes, I tried the USB adapter with a Sony headset, and it worked just fine.

Can this be setup for left-hand use (mic on the right)?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, yes this is possible since the boom mic can be rotated to the other side and have the same adjustment range. The headphone design itself is simple and symmetric so it can be flipped without affecting function. Thanks for checking.

Fine if you have a loud voice
These would be perfect if it were not for two things. 1: Microphone is very quiet. I do not have a loud voice, so that's a problem. 2: If you use a preamplifier such as Equalizer APO to solve the low microphone problem, then you have another problem, the headphones bleed into the microphone, enough that you have echo, or even worse, feedback, whoosh Whoosh WHOOSH. So I can not recommend unless you have a loud voice and don't need to use additional amplification. BTW, the mute button may at some earlier incarnation have had an LED indicator, but mine just has a red light all the time, no additional signal when muted. Can not recommend.

Well built, tight against the head, works well but high frequencies are muted compared to equally inexpensive earbuds with microphone I had before (OK for voices). Needed headphone style when I started using hearing aids.

Works well
I am please with these headphones, sound quality is good for skype/webex type meetings. I have on complaint, in order to use the volume adjustment and mute/unmute functions you need to use USB. Since my laptop's USB ports are full, I have to use the 1/8" connector so can't control volume from the headset.

Can?t beat it for the price. I bought two.
Surprisingly good construction given the price. Has a TRRS (iPhone, MacBook) plug that works well, and an adaptor to USBA with volume and mute buttons. The headset is comfortable but tension is not adjustable. For my large head, it?s a snug fit. Open-air ear pads make it easy to hear family when the speak to me. Microphone is a small electret, wide response, fitted at the end of a flexible metal-spiral tube. Mic rotates through about 3/4 of a circle, making it usable on either side. Only complaint: there is a significant loss of low frequencies when using the USB adaptor.
