Can you use a charge adapter from a phone or table to plug into a wall outlet?

BEST ANSWER: You could, if your only goal is to charge devices, but then you would lose the main purpose of this stand: to extend connectivity for headphones (3.5mm headphone jack, USB) that rest on the stand, and other peripherals; I have my (Monoprice!) USB boom mic connected to this hub as well as analog headphones.
I run a single USB-C cable from my MacBook Pro to my LG monitor, which has a USB-C PD port to charge, input video, and connect all my additional peripherals via the monitor's USB hub.
However you end up powering the hub, a USB 2.0 port won't work: 2.0 max output is 500mA, and the stand needs 900mA. A USB 3.0/3.1 port will power it, or a USB-C to A adapter from a laptop w/o USB-A ports should also work.

The usb is for the headphones to communicate with the computer, not to charge anything up. It also provide you with extra usb ports for other devices you might have.

I was not able to. Apparently it only works when plugged into a computer.

Can you turn the rgb lights off?
A shopper
on May 7, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Although you can use the selector button to change color, or turn off the lights, the selection does not "stick". If the host computer reboots, or goes to sleep and wakes up, the stand reverts back to rainbow.

Yes, you can. The button on the side cycles through rainbow (pulse), red(pulse), green(pulse), blue (pulse), purple (pulse) and off and then through the colors again but this time solid and then off again.

Good product
I got the headset stand for my grandson to use with his gaming system. He tells me it works great.

Very useful Device
I?ve only used it for 1 day but I?m enjoying that I can plug in a 3.5mm headset base as well as a usb microphone. If this device holds I?m very happy for this purchase.

Works great, love the look and features
I didn't realize what this actually is, which is a USB audio device. It works great, I am using it for work to keep the cords for my headphones out of the way and as a bonus provide the power to light the headphones up, along with the subtle but nice RGB effect of the headphone stand itself.

It's a fine "stand".
I purchased this for use with my Xbox. The RGB is either broken, or not getting enough juice through the Xbox USB port, because it will not stay illuminated. Really lame since other devices plugged into Xbox USB pretty ports work perfectly fine (also with LED lighting). My wireless controller charger for instance, works fine. But this stand does not.
When connected to Xbox, the RGB lighting cuts in and out and when the Xbox is turned off, they go out completely. I'm not even sure the charging works while the Xbox is off because it didn't look like it was charging initially, so I just plugged the stand into a wall plug. Now it doesn't use the RGB lighting at all (guessing because it's plugged into wall outlet directly). I just use it as a stand/charger with no lights. So the emphasis is on "Dark" for this "Dark Matter" accessory.

Looks great, but seems to have issues powering on.
Looks great when it is powered on. In my experience though, it is really finicky about how it is powered. I tried multiple bricks, plugs, USB outlets and computers. So far the only thing that will power it on is my MacBook. Also, it would hold the headphones better if the hanger had a stop at the end to keep the headset from sliding off.

Solid addition to the desk
Would love to have a headset/mic passthrough built in as well.

Is what I expected
Good product, does what it says. Seems overpriced and I could careless for the RGB, but it was the only thing of its kind with both the USBs and headphone jack.
