Does the underside have holes for wall mounting?
Ajith A
on Aug 17, 2021
BEST ANSWER: There are 2 slots on the back of the unit, but they are covered with what appear "knock-out" tabs. There is no info about this in the install guide. I'm leery of trying to punch these through to the inside of the case. There is no info about opening the case., pry, pop, what? What's the answer to all of this?

On closer inspection, it looks to be possible to use 2 small "flat head" wood screws to fit in the slots without having to do anything else. Flat head wood screws have a wedge/trapezoid shape (side view) that could provide a tight and sturdy mount. A very small drywall screw might work too. Otherwise, one has to find a small sheet metal like screw with a very thin head. Good luck!

Not 100% sure but I do not think so. I read the user guide and it made no mention of PoE nor is it an advertised feature.

Works good!
I had to move the cables from one end to the other for some reason. But so far so good. It has moved almost 1 gig per sec on my home net work.

Good little switch.
Used this this split my mothers network so she could have a printer wired in instead of just wifi + her two desktops.

Monoprice 5-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch
I got this to help with testing firewall gateway servers, so they could all share the same ISP connection. It is a bit lite, that is, it doesn't have much mass, so a cable can drag it off the test desk. Also you have to place it so that you can see the LED lights and again a patch cable can pull it over so you can't see the lights to see if it appears to be working or to validate if a test system is attempting to communicate.

I'm surprised how well this works for being so cheap. It runs much cooler than my NETGEAR MS105 2.5Gbps switch. Even though it is only 40% of the speed, it is only 15% of the cost. I use this to hook my Raspberry pi's and some IoT devices into my home network and they can't handle more than 1Gbps anyway, so this is perfect. Much faster than wifi, and at the exact right price point for low powered devices.

Simple and functional
Works great. Ran a couple of new Ethernet lines and wanted a way to link a fire cube, cable box, sound bar etc. up. This worked great out of the box with no setup. Can't believe how small the footprint is.

MONOPRICE switch helps wireless apps not supported by Starlink
I needed a work around to continue using the MyQ app for my garage door opener/camera/lock. I changed my internet provider to Starlink, which I was successful with all other wireless apps, EXCEPT MyQ! I purchased the wired option from Starlink, then purchased the Monoprice 5-port 10/100/1000mhz unmanaged switch. I then purchased a Trendnet refurbished unit as my wireless gateway to feed into Monoprice switch which was feeding Starlink modem.
I read the many positive reviews and as with typical Monoprice gear, made the purchase. PLEASE NOTE: This unit is physically SMALL! Less than 3"x3"x.75". Not a complaint. Just not expected. I was successful and now all a wireless apps home work through my Starlink provider.
I recommend this 5-port Monoprice unmanaged switch.

Monoprice Ethernet Switch, 5-Port
It works great easy to install and very fast signal. I have my PC and MagicJack web phone connected to it, it's connected directly to my D-Link DAP-1755 extender by means of a ethernet cable. I would highly recommend this product for anyone that needs connect multiple devices to a single source. Another high quality Monoprice brand product.
