Can these stands be filled with sand?
A shopper
on Apr 25, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I don’t think so! However, I am using my stands for Monoprice 8” powered monitors, and they do not budge at all!! I personally don’t believe that you need the sand in the 18” stands at all.

The bases could not, but the pillars could. You'd have to mostly assemble them first as there is a rod that goes through the pillar to connect the top and bottom.

What is the center pillar made of and can I cut it shorter with a radial arm saw, and then use a shorter threaded rod and make it work?
A shopper
on Jun 28, 2022
BEST ANSWER: These stands consist of a glass top and base attached by a thin metal rod that screws into metal anchors attached to the glass. This holds together as the outer rectangular "post" is compressed by the metal rod when fully tensed. Nothing hold the outer post in place other than tension countering the internal rod. It's a bit minimal, but it works. The post is made of thin aluminum with plastic caps at either end. It could be cut, but you'd have to be careful not to warp or bend it. Finally, there's a thin vinyl-coated MDF cosmetic front plate that would also need to be trimmed.

These are very nice, sturdy stands. The columns are made of metal with a plastic facing that slides into a channel as a cosmetic finish. You could cut down the height size and use a shorted, threaded rod to hold it together... But, you will have to match the threads on the existing rods. These are machined in China or wherever the units are made, so we can only hope you are able to match them!

How long are the included straps?
A shopper
on Apr 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: About 53-55 inches of useful length. The full strap is a bit longer, but since it is velcro, some of the length cannot be used as you need to fold it over itself to get the hooks (hard side) to mate with the fasteners (fuzzy side).

How does the cable management work?
Michael C
on Aug 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It simply has openings at the upper part of the vertical portion of the stand and the same at the bottom. Basically, the majority of your cables are concealed within the stand itself! I hope this helps!

BEST ANSWER: They will definitely hold the weight. I used mine for 17lbs each polks. As long as the tweeter gets near ear height when seated, you're good.

Does anyone know what the thread size is on either end of the steel rod? I presume it is metric, maybe M8, M6 or M4? And thread pitch? Thanks!

Nice classy looking stand.
Great stands, only issue I had was where we used them. Used on concrete floor and the adjustable feet did not have enough play to make speaker level. Give you about 1/4 inch of adjustment.

Great stands at a great price
I own far too many speakers and have far more audio set ups than I need. But when the time came to set up a restored pair of vintage larger bookshelf speakers (23" high, 12" wide, 9" deep) I used a couple milk crates. The wife acceptance factor of two old milk crates in the living room was pretty low, so back into the basement went these lovely speakers from history. Enter these stands.
Packed well for shipping. Easy to assemble. No missing parts. Far more stable with the large bookshelf speakers than one could imagine. Very happy as they look classy and put the tweeter right at ear level. For those of you with larger bookshelf speakers you can do far worse than these stands for far more money.
I'll probably order a couple more pairs because I'm crazy that way. Can never have too much audio gear!
