Will this work on iPhone 11 pro? I want to plug in my ole skull candy ear buds.
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: It works fine with my iPhone 8+. There's no electrical difference, the lightning specification hasn't changed so they should work fine. If not Monoprice has a great return policy, but you'll be fine.

I have an iPhone XR and this conversion works perfectly. I can’t imagine why this product wouldn’t work with iPhone 11 pro so long as it has a functioning lightning port.

Will this adaptor allow for stereo music separation when going from the iPhone to a stereo mini plug adaptor to rca left and right inputs on the hifi stereo?
A shopper
on Apr 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It should. The right and left channel are isolated in the mini stereo jack spec (tip, ring, sleeve). It's a standard and my right and left audio are correctly separated. I use bluetooth to my Monoprice tube amp though and I haven't owned a mini TRS audio jack connectors to RCA connector in about 15 year.

No DAC. This uses the apple processor, it is a replacement for the removed 3.5mm output on the most recent devices. Just remember, you can not charge with this device plugged in.

Nope. I thas a DAC and amp in it. It has to, because Lightning does not support analog audio.
You can charge your device with an adapter in it, if you have a wireless charger and your iPhone supports wireless charging.

How many volts does it output?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: It would be variable depending on the audio volume setting and the nature of the audio stream.
This stack exchange post has more technical info
"Commercial line out specification is to be able to drive 1 milliwatt to a 600 ohm load. For a sine wave, this means a voltage of 0.77 volts RMS (2.2 volts peak-to-peak) and a current of 1.3 milliamperes RMS (3.6 milliamperes peak-to-peak)."

It does not output volts, it converts an audio signal coming from an Apple device that uses a Lightning connector to a 3.5 mm stereo phone jack that can be used to connect other audio devices such as external speaker or headphone/ear buds.

This cable does not produce any voltage. It is only used for taking output audio using the lightning input/output from iPhone or ipad to a 3.5 mm output male plug for older vehicles that do not have Bluetooth capabilities.

My earbuds/microphone have a standard 3.5mm 4-conductor plug (TRRS CTIA/AHJ). The plug fits into the adapter securely, and the earbuds/microphone function properly, but the nylon jacket surrounding the adapter socket slides in and out. This makes it difficult to remove the 3.5mm plug because I am concerned the jacket may slip too far and damage the adapter. Is this normal?

BEST ANSWER: I've used this with my Iphone, running Qobuz hi def streaming, at the high bit rates. It sounds fantastic. That said, the app you're running will do the Digital to Analog conversion, and the adapter will output an analog signal as expected. The adapter itself does not "restrict" in any way that I know of, if there is any down conversion of the music, it'll happen at the phone D/A level and be passed to the adapter after that. Hope this helps.

Slippery, but functional
It works fine, I like it. But it is hard to pull out because there is no ridge to grip, it is slippery

Could be better.
This 3.5 to lightning adapter is just an ok product from Monoprice. It sounds great when it works. I often need to plug/unplug it several times to get my phone to recognize it. It?s a minor problem, but it would be nice to have it work consistently. And yes, the lightning port on my phone is clean. Never have issues with my charging cables.

Worth it
It?s a longer and more flexible cable than a standard dongle so it doesn?t do that annoying bend. Carrying one of these on me has saved a lot of situations.
