Can I mount 32" tv to this stand?
A shopper
on Nov 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The specs indicate up to 32", but it all depends on the placement of the TV's VESA mounting holes. This only has about a 15" clearance from the bottom of the mounting plate when it's raised to its top position. If it does work for your TV model, the actual mount is very good. It's the most stable mount I've used, even when using the clamp instead of the more stable hole mounting.

as long as your TV has the standard VESPA mounting, it should bolt up just fine. If there is something that juts out further than the mounting point at the bottom of the TV, it may bump the bottom of the stand.

Yes, assuming proper sized VESA mount and 17.7" or shorter from the center of the bolt holes to the bottom of the TV.

How far does the base reach into the desk?
New User U
on Aug 8, 2021
BEST ANSWER: 5 inches. You can probably push it back a little bit if you had to (so it would only reach in 4 1/2" or so) at the expense of sticking out farther on the back side.

It reaches into the desk about 4.75 inches. Very small footprint for me. I have mine on the corner of my desk and I never feel like its "in the way" or anything.

If you use the clamp, it is 5 inches. The base itself is 3.25 around. If you drill through the desk, you can put it wherever you want it.

This question has been asked 13 times without and answer: How deep a desk lip does the mount need?
Michael H. K
on Aug 3, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Looks like you need about an inch. Mine didn't have a lip so I used the option to drill one hole through the top and mounted it that way which worked well. My top was 1 1/4 thick so it wouldn't have worked anyway. Don't think it can be more than an inch thick for the bracket

There is an extension block you can add to the base for narrow tops. I used this block to attach this item to a stand-up desk (which has a very thin top) and it was extremely snug fitting. I've had zero problems even with a 23" monitor.

For the edge mount clamp it needs about 1 3/4" on the underside of the desktop and about 5" on the top.

What is the minimum overhang needed for desktop? Will this work with ~1" of overhang?
A shopper
on Sep 17, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The circular base of the stand is approximate 3 inches in diameter with a single 1/4" post that fastens no the underside to plate about 1" wide. Therefore, drilling your 1/4" hole 1" in from the edge, would not give enough room for that plate. If you bring the hole 1/2" closer to the edge, you would have enough room for that metal plate on the underside but the above circular base would be hanging off over the edge and questionably sturdy. We are using this with a 34" wide screen monitor FYI so the 32" is not a maximum limit.

Without knowing your exact desk dimensions, makes this assessment difficult. At the surface, I don't think that this solution will work for you, particularly if your monitor is on the larger end of what this mount would support. Now we all have unique situations, but if this were me with a 1" overhang and very little surface to clamp to, I would look for a different MP product that offers the same flush-mount capability but without the clamp challenges. For example, MP SKU# 36083.

Is there any way to mount a 38" monitor on this? Monitor I have is a Dell U3818DW.
Michael T
on Dec 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it might be possible but you have to check two things on your monitor. The first is the weight, this mount is recommended for monitors up to 17.6 lbs and exceeding that might risk damage to your monitor if the mount adjustments become loose from the weight. The other thing to check is if your monitor will fit, at maximum height the center of the VESA mount will be at around 18 inches from the desk top. There's a good chance your monitor could fit, but just consider that your height adjustments would be limited if you are using a bigger screen. Hope this helps. Thanks.

How closely does this match the look of the Workstream by Monoprice Adjustable Gas Spring Desk Mount for 15~34in Monitors (Product # 15526)? I really really like the flat textured finish on 15526, rather than the glossy piano black I've seen on other monitor arms. I also like the heft/feel of 15526. I would like to match 15526 for secondary monitors to left and right of a main monitor on 15526, and am thinking this mount might be better for the side monitors and require fewer overall adjustments than additional gas spring ones.

Does the job....well
My main factor in getting this was to get my monitory close to the wall vs. my old monitor mount, I now have ~5 extra inches between me and front of monitor. It's sturdy and the cable clip cleans up the look of my desk.
It's a compliment that I no longer think about the stand -- it just blends in and quietly does the job, happy with the purchase.

Monitor tilt thingy in the rear is wonky
Generally good overall.
Only thing is the fastener on the rear of the where the VESA mount connects to the post. There is a half-circular connection that enables you to change the angle of the screen but it is held in place with a small screw that doesn't seem substantial enough to hold so monitor can tilt downward very easily. For example, if you have a standup desk that goes up and down, the monitor may tilt downward when raising the desk.

Great sleek affordable monitor mount
Very sleek compared with bulky, lanky monitor arms I've seen elsewhere. Adjustable height is really nice. It allows me to have my laptop open right below it when the monitor is raised to the highest point.
Very convenient to adjust monitor height because it has screws that have handles that you can grab with your whole hand and not need a screw driver for.
I really like that there's the option to screw the mount into your desk OR not screw into the desk and just slide the mount over the desk.

Needed single monitor flush mount vs multiple flush mount
Needed a flush mount to position my desk flush against wall. This worked so well, I bought another one for me and an additional one for my spouse. Height is adjustable for varying heights (I have mine on my "stand-up" desk and I'm 6'8" / 2M tall). MP has other variants on this product that I would imagine work well too. For my particular application, I needed the single monitor version vs the multiple monitor version. Shipment came quickly to me in the Midwest US, despite COVID supply chain/trucking challenges. Strongly recommend this solution for a single monitor-based workstation application.
