Hi Can you use this amp with your Sycamore Outdoor 2.1 Speaker System? Would be interested in driving a total 2 subs and 8-10 satellite speakers, if not, what would you recommend? Thank you in advance.

1 subs and 4 speakers is the desired load for a 200w unity, running 2 subs and 8-10 speakers is an ask for the 200w. However, if you are going to do it a single 450w unity would be better or daisy chaining 2 200w unity using RCA with 1 sub and 4 speakers off each amp. To each there own, but in short the single 200w might be able to do the job but, more amplification is better especially if you have a large distance between the amp and speakers.

I used two Sonos amps with mine. I did one sub and four satellite speakers. Not sure on the amp you have picked. I also put two outdoor speakers on the house. They are awesome. It’s sounds great. I will be ordering a couple more Satellite speakers just for back up if mine quits working. You won’t be disappointed the are great.

Youd need a 70v system to safely run the speakers in parallel or add in a speaker selector between the amp and satillite speakers

It would work fine. 2 of these amps in bridged mode would be better and add a little dynamic headroom.

I would think you would have to use one amp per sub/satellite set you plan to run.

BEST ANSWER: You don't need a sub amp, although you could use one. However, this speaker has a built-in crossover, so if you have a crossover on your amp, you'd need to disable it, otherwise your satellite's wouldn't get the higher range. Note that this sub is designed for pretty low wattages, so any typical receiver can power it sufficiently. If you want an external amp to power this, you can, but not required.

You can do either. I have mine currently wired out from the amp to the sub, which has outputs for the mids. So it serves as the crossover between itself and the satellites.

One (minimum 2 channel) amp will work. I am using one amp - sonos zp120. Before that I was using a denon 2809 and sonos connect. The denon drove a much louder response.

BEST ANSWER: I haven't buried mine yet but extensively testing location. Will be using it with Klipsch aw400 outdoor speakers, which can produce lower than 200hz and plus I want to be able to control sub level so I will be wiring the sub on it's own, with 120hz low pass filter (I have DSP).
Impression so far are positive, especially for the price. The mushroom cap size surprised me a bit, looks bigger in person. The tube makes significant part of the sound (I guess it's the port of the sub). It does sound just a bit boomy indoors for my taste but not too much outdoors.
The assembly looks like it was 'garage made' but in a positive way. There is tons of sealant where the 2 half are assembled and around the woofer mount inside.
With the klipsch AW400, when they are wired as a system (single stereo amp powers all 3), they are almost in balance. Again, it will benefit if the sub has lower crossover because 150hz and up frequencies are starting to be perceived as directional, meaning I can pin point that certain tones are coming from the sub. If you buy the system with the satellite speakers and you mount them close (within 10ft), this would probably not be noticable.

BEST ANSWER: Wire them in parallel. Two speakers to each set of wires from the sub. So for example if you have two speakers on the right side of the sub run speaker wire from each back to the sub. Then at the sub connect the + speaker wire to the + wire on the sub with a wire nut and then all the - wires to the - wire on the sub with a wire nut. 3 wires each. Do the same for the other two speakers.

The setup I want to have is the following: I'd like to have 4 satellite speakers using the same sub but I'd like to switch audio between 2 satellites while still using the 1 sub for the lows. Then, when the party is big enough, I'd like to be able to use all 4 satellites at once. In other words, can I play sound using 2 satellites at a time or all 4 satellites when needed but using the same sub? What amplifier would I need to do this? Better yet, what amplifier with wi-fi connectivity can I use to do this so it can be controlled from a smart phone?

BEST ANSWER: I see one sub wired mono to the left out and one to the right out of our 450W Unity amp. See page 5 of the manual.
SUB - Tie the left and right positive input leads together and the negatives together and attach to the +/- of the amp left channel. Do the same =for the other sub to the right channel of the amp. Use sub woofer outs as normal.
SATELLITE - you can safely wire 4 sat. speakers to each sub, 2 on the left out, and 2 on the right out. It is probably easier to wire all 4 directly to the sub as the terminal on the satellites are quite small and may be difficult to get two sets of wires in there to make the parallel connection.

I am trying to equip my property for whole-property indoor/outdoor audio, so I can play the same music on this Sycamore outdoor system simultaneously with the existing in-ceiling speakers on a speaker selector switch.
I'm using a mid-range 100W/channel 5.1 AV receiver, and I have a couple of other 75W to 100W 5.1 receivers that I can involve for these Sycamore outdoor speakers. I don't want to buy another amp. I don't plan to play it loudly; just for background music.
I assume this Sycamore outdoor system requires a lot of power compared to a pair of in-ceiling speakers, so I don't expect that I can just add this new Sycamore outdoor channel as a fourth channel on my existing 4-channel speaker selector?
Could I dedicate my receiver/amp's B-speakers channel to the Sycamore system, while letting the A-speakers output drive several other indoor speaker pairs on a speaker selector with volume controls to balance the indoor (A) vs outdoor (B) volume? This is the way I'm leaning, but would appreciate any experiences since we are hosting an indoor/outdoor event a few days after these are delivered, so I won't have much time to order more equipment if needed. Thank you in advance!

It also works I connect this system to the Surround L & R channels (I have another set of outdoor full range speakers on the "Front" channels), and run the AV receiver in "5-Ch Stereo" mode, but configure the amp so that there is NOT a subwoofer, so that full range lows are sent to the Sycamore system.

What happens if the sub becomes submerged? This is for a lake property that occasionally floods.

BEST ANSWER: It will fill up with water. It is not an enclosed system. You will need to excavate it, drain, rinse out until clear, then let it air out for a few days. This happened to a friend's sub, this is what she did 5 years ago and it is working to this day.

I am looking to purchase this sub, but I also want to run 6 - 8hm 2.5" satellites....Will I be able to run it with this sub? What amp would I need? I have a Sonos Connect, and SMSL AD18 that I would like to use with this.

BEST ANSWER: Yea that will work, but the better way is to power the satellites with your amp and buy a separate subwoofer amp to power the sub independently. You will get much more volume and cleaner bass.

I have a few questions in regard to using this subwoofer:
1. If using it as a standalone subwoofer without the intended satellite speakers, what is required of the "output" pairs? Do I cap them off, or do they need to be tied off together in their intended pair? I assume since it's got a crossover built in that I can just cap them off.
2. Are the impedances listed in anticipation of one pair of satellites or are those the true impedances of just the voicecoils themselves. Also, I assume each voicecoil by itself is 8ohm. If so, sounds like I have a choice of 8 ohm stereo (1 channel per coil), 16 ohm series (1 channel for both coils with negative of the first coil to positive of the second before completing the circuit, or 4ohm with both coils on a single channel in parallel.
I may have my parallel and series to ohms messed up, but going off memory. I'll correct if I find otherwise.

BEST ANSWER: The answer to the first question is. If you are using the sub as standalone then the satellite wire just need to be capped off. The answer to the 2nd question is. The impedance listed is for the voice coils of the subwoofer itself. Therefore 8ohms per coil in stereo, 16ohms in mono with coils in series, and 4ohms in mono with coils in parallel. As far as impedance for outputs I’m confident that the 200hs high pass filter is for 8ohm satellite speakers. I hope this helps.

What is the longest wire run I can have from my receiver to the subwoofer if I use 12 gauge wire? How far can the satellites be from the subwoofer?

I am looking at installing outdoor speakers utilizing two Monoprice Sycamore Outdoor 2.1 Speaker Systems with 8-inch Subwoofer and 2.5-inch Satellites (3 piece) along with two sets of monoprice sycamore satelillite speakers. these will be powered by two Monoprice Unity 450 Watt Bridgeable Power Amps Each amp with run each set of subwoofer and 4 speaker sets. Can I use one Bluetooth Streaming Music Receiver with NFC and Qualcomm aptX Support to supply the music through both amps and to the speakers or will an additional reciever be required as well?

I buried my sub but forgot to label which wire was 'IN' and 'OUT'. I have a dedicated 4 conductor wire from amp to subwoofer - no satellite speakers. I can hook up my 4 conductor speaker wire to either cable on the sub and it will play. Is there a difference in sound quality in this setup? I'm wondering if I need to dig down and find out which wire is 'IN'.

Hello, i'm looking to run 6 total sycamore satellite speakers w/ a subwoofer. Given the matching subwoofer is out of stock till at least the end of July is there any recommendations (including non-Monoprice options since i dont see any others) to run w/ that setup? My idea was to power this with the new Sonos Amp which requires 8 ohm speaker setup. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If I want to run the sub without any satellite speakers how would I wire it to get the most bass? I have a Unity 450 Watt Bridgeable Power Amp to power it.

My Yamaha RN803 receiver has a mono jack for Subwoofer out with an output level of 4.0 V/1.2 k♎️ So my guess is that would not be sufficient to power the Sycamore subwoofer. So I need to power this subwoofer through one of the primary A/B speaker jacks. Is that correct? Do you have a wiring diagram you can share that shows how this subwoofer should be connected to a receiver?

Great outdoor sound
This paired with satellite speakers sounds great in my backyard. Good sound at any spot in the back yard now and even in the pool with the water features running.

Worth it for the price.
Product came exactly as described. I would not say the sound is huge, but definitely carry?s low end in my outdoor patio. Not able to hear from 100ft away. Worth the purchase for the price.

Second Sub
Good bass sound. Bought the first one about a year ago. We have a very large backyard , needed a second sub. It was out stock for 3-4 months. Ordered a different sub from another mfg. ( was not the same quality). Finally monoprice had them back in stock. So I ordered the second sub. Took about 10 day to get, but we are very happy.

Booming sub!
This is an amazing subwoofer. Just make sure you dig it deep enough. Works best with a dedicated electronically filtered subwoofer amplifier.

Good
Speakers performed as expected. I went with a cheap Chinese amp (Sunbuck), probably a Class A amplifier (the worst). But I have 4 Subs and 4 Tweats mated up to 2 Sunbuck amps (they say each one generates 2000 watts which is probably around 200 watts apiece). I have ran the wires through 1.25" conduit and have wired in 2 5 amp relays to switch on or off the Tweats. So far one of my neighbors threatened me and another 3 houses down was ready to call the Police. So use your better judgement when jacking up the amps!

So good I bought another one!
Hid one near the deep end of our pool that fills most of a pretty big back yard with a nice bottom end. You can feel it under water but is not harsh above. We decided to build a tiki bar on the opposite side of the yard 70' away and we needed good sound there, too. Now with both, we have great sound even at very low volume. When we really crank it, the windows shake and you can almost see a wave in the pool. No distortion, just good clean bass. We are running both on a 500W vintage Crown Amp. The other speakers have their own amp. We do not run the satellite speakers.
