Dual banana. Where do I thread speaker wire to it?
A shopper
on Sep 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is a hole in each terminal where to insert the bare wire and twist tighten the end against it. It's a standard d design for this type of plug.

It's a standard connect for this style. mid way down horizontal holes with finger screw compression securing wires. Works great and allows for easy removal of banana plugs if changing to a application where they cant be used. Can be reused over and over allowing for non permant applications. .

You unscrew the cap on the top of the plug, insert your wire into the hole and tighten the cap.

Back off the knurled knob. It opens a hole to insert the speaker wire.

I have purchased these banana plugs. Are these banana plugs, stackable ? i.e. piggyback. If so can you send me an image of it stacked .

BEST ANSWER: Yes they can be stacked. These plugs are a bit longer than many dual banana plugs though so you'll have quite the dongle hanging out the back of your amp.

Yes, just did that a few weeks ago for a show. These tend to loosen over time; I plan to use a bit of Loctite before the next use.

how do you connect spade connectors?
William S
on Dec 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
We would not offer spade connectors you can add onto our plugs and this would not have removable connectors so I cant think of any way you can make these spades without soldering on your own spade connection.

Am I using them for wrong purpose?
This is not about the quality of the product but about the design. I might be using them beyond their intended function (not sure), however, I was hoping that I could stack two of them to connect both speaker and subwoofer to the same amplifier terminal. However, female section of the plug is not deep enough to accept the tip (male section) of the plug. Only half the plug fits to the other plug thus making an insecure connection.

reusability factor 100!
Purchased these way back in 2015 for use with my old Onkyo AVR and they were excellent. I swapped out my unit for latest&greatest Onkyo and have run into issue that Onkyo changed the speaker terminal layout from "+/- +/- +/-" to "all + over all -". The plugs no longer fit. However I rewired the plugs +/+ & -/- for "speaker pairs" (front/surround/rear) and center speaker wired with single banana plugs (#9436).

Banana plug
For my intended purpose they were fine. Except, you cannot use them on your Speaker Terminals directly on your A/V receiver. They wouldn't line up with the terminals on my Flagship ONKYO Receiver. I found that very odd!

sound killer
They have good build quality and fit my speakers perfectly BUT just sucked the life out of the sound. I was more than surprised that something that small could make a BIG difference but it did. went back to bare wire, oh well...

Value, neat, easy connection
Great value, so much easier than loose wires, esp behind the receiver. Make sure you have standard 3/4" spacing, though.
