I can't get this to work with dual monitors on my MacBook Pro 2018. They're both Asus 1440p monitors, I have one plugged in via HDMI and one via DisplayPort. When they're both connected, all three of my displays (MacBook + both monitors) flicker endlessly like it's in a detection loop. If I have just one of the two monitors plugged in, it works fine. I've turned the refresh rates on both monitors down to 60Hz, no change. Any advice? So far this hub is a waste of money.

BEST ANSWER: I had the same problem. The Description is very misleading. After trying multiple things, I revisited the listing and noticed they specified Dual Screens on PC, not mac... It is not possible to run Dual Monitors on a MBP... Please let me know if you find a way, or if Monoprice does something for you about this as I would like something done as well...

I miss spoke in my last reply, there is actually a second power source you need to purchase for the docking station. It doesn't have enough power with the one source to manage two additional screens. Once you have the two power sources from the docking station it will work great!

All you need is another power source and it will work great! So you need the connection that is going from the computer into the docking station into the outlet, as well as a power source from the computer to an outlet.

How does that work if this unit only has one DisplayPort? Are you able to plug a monitor into DisplayPort and another into HDMI and drive as separate monitors?
I have run two external displays in addition to the laptop screen on all my MacBooks, including my current with the touch bar, without any issues. But you must use a separate USB-C dongle for each display.

I've been able to run HDMI and DisplayPort both at 1920x1280 @ 60hz. However, I have not been able to run 4k @ 30hz (per spec) on one monitor AND output to a 2nd monitor at 1920x1280.

The lack of MST support is a limitation in macOS. If you are using bootcamp to run Windows on your MacBook Pro then it will work as intended with MST to expand the desktop to two external displays. If Apple adds MST support to macOS in the future then it would work.

BEST ANSWER: Responding to my own question: I ended up rebooting / unplugging / reconnecting and my laptop (i) started charging, (ii) recognized the LAN/Ethernet, and (iii) audio decided to work (had an non-dock related issue; hard to tell give a brand new laptop). I gave up on the VGA connection, and purchased a display-port to VGA adapter and my old monitor is working (occasional 'flutter' in the screen - which may simply be the old monitor... i'm buying a new one). Only thing I miss on this docking station vs. the official Dell is no power-on button, but that isn't a big deal.

The real question then becomes.. how much power actually comes out of the dock if it's fed 75W or 100W, because surely it uses some of that itself and only the remains are sent to your computer.

Do you offer a Dock either Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C that can do 2 Display Port out for Dual Monitor Support but also offer Legacy Connection to a thunderbolt 2? I have 1 Apple Thunderbolt Display and 2 Dell 27" monitors with Display port. I hate having all the dongles etc to connect and disconnect.

Works as advertised
Overall this product works great with my MacBook Pro and would recommend it. This product would be better if the unit came with a 100W power supply instead of the 72W power supply provided.

Good But Needs Better Cord Description
Works great HOWEVER you need a very specific generation of cord for full functionality, which monoprice is not clear about in the item description. And Monoprice does not have these specific ones in stock, either. The cords needed are USB-C to USB-C 3.1 GEN 2. GEN 2 seems to be the key factor here.

Not Enought Juice
Seems well-built. Bigger and heavier than I thought so probably not suitable for travel. The biggest problem? It doesn't have enough juice to power and charge a LENOVO laptop with an existing 65w power adapter.

Major audio issues, meh port selection
My big problem: The headset port on the front is totally unshielded and has MAJOR interference. Very loud and absolutely constant, so the port is basically unusable. So much for that feature.
For some reason you have to connect your laptop to the USB-C port on the FRONT. Why would you do that? Now I have a cable snaking across my desk. The included cable is way too short to reach my laptop, too.
There are only two rear USB ports, which is stupidly few for a docking station -- I have to plug it into a hub. What's the point of having this dock, again?
I don't have any issues with video or power, but that's the only good thing I can say. It's basically an overpriced oversized display + power adapter.

Not a good purchase.
Unfortunately, this is the worst dock I have used. I have 2 other docks that I use regularly (1 less expensive from a no name company and 1 more expensive from a major company) and never have any problems. I was excited to see this one from monoprice and about the ability to add 2 monitors, but when I connect the dock I have to go into the menu to tell it to use the dock as an ac adapter to charge, or it just continues to run down the battery. It frequently disconnects while in the middle of using it and the delay of any usb device plugeed in via the dock makes it hard to use with a mouse or keyboard. I haven''t even tried adding another monitor because it has so much trouble staying connected to 1.

Great buy for dual monitor fun
Needed a dual monitor dock for our Lenovo Yoga. Works incredibly well for much less than the factory dock.

Meh. Somewhat functional. Audio passthrough is flaky, which is one of the main reasons I got this. Video is ok, but the only place this thing actually functions well is as a USB hub. The cover of the provided USB cable easily slides around, making it easy to not fully connect.

Nearly perfect, but stops working
My issues are similar to other reviewers. I've had 3 and all 3 work well for some period of time, but eventually stop sending signal to the HDMI and stop charging. When it works, it's perfect. However, it currently feels like <$100 wasted...
