BEST ANSWER: I have a MacBook Pro with Touchbar. No driver was needed to get my 20” Apple Cinema Display to work with the MacBook. I’m not sure what to do with the FireWire cables from the Cinema Display bc the adapter doesn’t have FireWire connectors, but the display seems to work fine.

I agree. On my Mac, there is no driver required. Apple sees fit to include most all drivers for almost all peripherals.

Does this allow you to connect two monitors at the same time or can you only connect one screen at a time?

I have a 32 or 34 inch samsung curved monitor and have been trying to connect it to my hp envy 27 all in one pc desktop but the hdmi to displayport cable must be old and keeps displaying a check signal cable message. The monitor has 2 hdmi ports and 1 display port, will this item get my monitor to work and be able to use?

You Can Plug Stuff Into It!
Whoa. Just noticed that not only can I plug stuff into this thing, but get this: I can plug it into other things! Craziness. I can't even tell you how much fun we've had plugging things into this and now plugging it into other things. I would say life changing, but I'm not a big fan of hyperbole, so I will just quote my 12 year old son:
"Epic. Can I have my phone back?"

Works well with both PC and Mac.
We bought this adapter for Windows users as we were upgrading to Lenovo laptops and also have some Mac users in our company with USB-c connections. I tried this connection on both and it preformed like a champ. Good Job Monoprice! I have back ups in case we need to add a dual monitor to our Mac users.

If you only buy one video adapter, get this one
Bought a few of these to go with my new MacBook Pro.
Works great and I love the flexibility of having three different kinds of output.
It should be noted that only one output will work at a time, so if you want to have multiple outputs from your Mac, you will need to buy a couple of these. I've connected up to three to my Mac with no problems.
