How is this different from Product # 24758 other than cat7 vs cat6a printed on the plug? I looked at the spec in detail including plug size diagrams and they appear to be otherwise identical.

The prong that locks it in looks plastic still, which is always what breaks on every rj45 since inception. How durable is this piece? Ideally this would be metal and durable too.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
We have not received consistent reports of these plugs breaking so these would be pretty durable plugs.

Not worth the price.
These are way too wide to fit beside each other connected to a switch. They are also very long which is a problem in a crowded enclosure.
I had about a 20% failure when testing my cables. Swapped to a different shielded connector and never had another failure.

Good, but wide
Very easy to install, however the strain relief seems to be very wide around the metal portion of the connector. It's difficult to install 2 of these next to each other in a switch, and 3 in row doesn't work without really forcing them.

They work
Make sure you are using a flush cutter and not a pair of snips. Other manufactures may cost two to three times as much but are easier to install and may save time in the long run.

Connection issue
Does not stay inserted on some of my devices (both Samsung DVD players, two HP laptops) .
Netgear switch, two Samsung TVs and two other HP laptops OK.
Took a bit of practice (ruined 3 connectors) getting connector to correctly attach to stiff Cat7a cable.
Had to remove most of restraining strap as Cat7a is very thick.

plug that works
It is very difficult to connect round cable to a flat plug: for those that have tried. This plug is the answer as it makes it much easier then it use to be. It definitely takes practice putting this on as there are no instructions and the wire have to be cut concisely otherwise the crimping cap won't recess completely. My only complaint is the plugs are a little wide and can be difficult in adjacent slots.
