BEST ANSWER: We use it in a commercial studio and once we set it up we have not had to touch it since. The source goes on and off as well as the display with no issues. It is being fed by 1x8 hdmi splitter amp that provides a consistent resolution so that may have something to do with it. It has been the best solution we have used so far and we have tried many. Cat6 wiring is a must.

I tried to use this device with a MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3/USB-C to HDMI adapter (the one Apple makes), and get a scrambled screen. It works great with a laptop that has a built in HDMI port. Any idea why it does not work with the adapter? Thank you.

Our extenders are not made to be connected to adapters or converters so we cant guarantee they will work unless you go straight from the source to the display.

Probably not the right version of HDCP compliance. If you need 2.2 like for the new Apple TV it’s most likely your issue.

I can't get these to send a picture. I was previously using non 4k extenders and it was working fine, aleit not with 4k (like all my components can handle). But after plugging these in, I get no signal on projector. I've got 2 sets so I tried 2 sets of units, different ethernet cords, different HDMI cords and fully tested the continuity of the Cat6 run. Does it need to be activated? I see a green light on the ethernet port but no orange? I also only seemed to get one ac adapter for each set but tried one ac adapter on each of the transmitter and receiver...

BEST ANSWER: I am using a pair of these to run video from a noisy DAW (recording) PC into my control room to view the recording software. These are plug-n-play units, so no activation is required. Also, you only need power on one end. I have my power plugged into the transmitter end at the PC. The Cat 6 cable will carry power to the receiver. On both of mine I have a solid green light at the RJ-45 connector and a flashing orange. I see this is an older post from last year, so I hope you were able to sort it out.

We just ordered these, so this may be way beyond your need but may help someone else. We had no problems. The power needs to be on the transmitter, not receiver. You also need to be connecting directly with one CAT6 cable, not using a switch or router to my knowledge. Granted, we are not sending a 4k signal, just 1080p.

Not sure what Atmos is, but what ever is coming down the HDMI will get converted to cat 5/6 ethernet to the other box at the other end and back to HDMI again. I have one transmitter and 3 receivers daisy chained together in a church for lobby TV's and they work great. No issues for a few years now.

BEST ANSWER: I have the 85 inch sony TV 950, with a Marantz 8015. I would personally buy the Geffen Balun if your over 12 feet. I could not get it to do 4K on a patio run. I run the Geffen outside and it will move between 4k hdr and regular 4k with no issues. The monoprice unit sometimes looses the handshake and you have to switch the input back and forth. The Geffen is a lot more money but it does remain more stable.

Worked exactly as I hoped and fixed my issue.
Purchased this to replace an HDMI extender that was not powered and quit working. I'm not sure if the extender went bad after 9 years or with higher definition signals I needed a powered extender but I thought I'd give it a try and it works perfectly now. I also like the HDMI pass through which allowed me to connect a second TV and eliminate the need for a separate cable box. The only negative is that if you had both TV's on they have to be tuned to the same channel, but this isn't an issue for me as rarely would have both of the TV's on at the same time because of where they are located in my house.

Regular reboots required
It seems like these boxes go out of sync and stop transmitting. I would ask for a refund and go with HDMI over IP system instead. It's been consistent where I'll change to the HDMI input these are suppose to send image to and need to power cycle the boxes to bring back the video feed.
Disappointing overall. Good image when it works but IRRITATING reliability.

Great Product
We had to replace what we had originally due to buying a 4k TV. The original require 2 Cat5 or 6 cables, this does not. Once hardware is in place and cables attached, it worked with no issues. Picture is great and we have not had any connection or other issues at all.

No mounting bracket. Instructions are incorrect.
Although the unit is very light, in a mission-critical environment you/we need to secure everything. There are no holes or bracket to do so.
Instructions incorrectly state that both receiver and transmitter need to connect to an AC/DC adapter. They do not. In fact, the package only includes one power adapter.
