I’m looking for the best fitting banana plug for my polk LSIM speakers and my Yamaha 3070. Will these work or is their a better one?

BEST ANSWER: On the speaker end I prefer a dual plug type connector. Just be sure on your speaker terminal spacing is one inch/ or 25,4 mm. Dual plugs do NOT work on newer receivers and some speakers because of spacing.

Yamaha and most all other modern receivers can use this type and size banana plug.

I had a similar problem. Put the plug bottom side down and tap lightly with a hammer on the plug and it should expand

How much lead content this product has?
A shopper
on Jan 9, 2024
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. The product itself is brass, not lead. Due to this process, the product may come into contact with lead during the manufacturing process and may have residual lead content of less than 0.1% by weight (1000 ppm).

Obviously, I didn't make the product, but I am pretty sure it doesn't have any lead in it. It is mostly brass from what I can tell which is composed of Copper and Zinc. The description confirms that is is indeed gold plated brass.

BEST ANSWER: Only one way to find out. You would have to stick a real thin flat head screw driver and try to expand the tips. Or try different banana plugs, they vary, some are a little wider at the tips and some narrower

I have MP wall plate (MP ID#6907) which I had intended to use banana plugs (MP ID# 21822 or 21916 or 21913) on both sides. However, I've discovered that I cannot fit a plug into each side of the female connector. Am I doing something wrong or are there plugs with shorter ends to accommodate this setup or is it common to use bare wire for one side? If using bare wire on one side, does that interfere with the sound quality (assuming the bare wire is properly secured)?

Such an easy connector to install!
OK, so I ordered a 20 pair pack (#2008) and crossed my fingers about a 12 gauge wire install. Ordered the bulk 300ft. roll of OFC speaker wire (#2790) and it was a perfect snug fit. My hands hurt a little from arthritis, but even with that the install went easily. I found that about 3/16 needs to be taken off of the wire jacket which leaves a near perfect waterfall once you bend the bare end over the collar. I also remove the color rings as the wire is so well marked it isn't needed and you gain a little torque when tightening it all together. The simplest process is to install the wire into the collar, loosen the banana pin, screw the halves together until they stop, retighten the banana pin. There will be a 1/16 gap, and you'll need a plier to get enough grip to twist the portions together and it's solid. The prongs on the plug can be adjusted with a small flat-blade if you compress them during assembly and think they are 'loose' in the port.

Beats threading wire through AVR twist connects
These quick connects really shine when you have everything put back together in the case and you discover you connected the right speaker to the left channel and the left to the right. The color coded rings really help if you don't have color coded wire. Method of securing wires to plugs is much quicker than tiny screws and so far just as secure. Ordered March 23 and received April 12. Not bad, not great, but definitely not overnight nor within 3 business days. Nevertheless, the quantity, quality, and price was as described. I like 'em

Solid, but loose fitting
I like the solid construction of these plugs. I did have to squeeze the tips vertically so that the edges would bend out some. Otherwise the plugs would be very loose when connecting them to the speakers or receiver.

Poor quality pins do not lock
These are a great deal price wise. However these do not fit tightly in most higher end amps and receivers. The pins do not have enough thickness to lock in. I cannot use these and now cannot return past 30 days. Do not recommend these at all. Very poor quality.

Doesn't appear to be gold as ordered
Platng has silver hue, does not look like the gold I ordered. Probably no major difference in electrical performance, so just an appearance issue.

Great quality but difficult to attach wires.
After attaching about 5 of these to my speaker wire, my hands started hurting pretty bad. I have stranded 14 awg wire and it would take some considerable force to get the wires bent over and the end pushed in enough to start screwing it back together to hold tight. Amazing price, but difficult to use. Great contact with wires and very firm connection when done right.

Don?t really know how good they are?
Really, really NOT a fan. They?re easy to set up, they seem of good quality, but they just flat out don?t stay in the jacks of either my Marantz AVR or my Emotiva amp. I can?t believe that both components have numerous messed up jacks. I suspect the QC on the plugs is questionable.
