BEST ANSWER: This device needs power. And it is possible that your iPhone can't provide it. It is a pass through connection needing power like 5vDC. So a laptop can provide that.

No. This is a passive adapter only, only one of the ports can be connected at a time. Connecting this dongle while more than one display is attached to it will result in undefined behaviour (up but hopefully not including your dog being eaten by wild dingoes, and your house being carried away by hundreds of balloons).

BEST ANSWER: When I plug it in to my Android phone, it takes a few seconds but then the phone notices it as a second monitor, regardless if no second monitor is actually attached. Maybe try plugging it in as desired, turn the second monitor in, then reboot the mac?

Hold down the windows key along with the letter P key. A window on the right side of your screen will pop up and select duplicate screen. That should send the signal to your monitor if using hdmi or DVI.

BEST ANSWER: Laptops typically do not function as external displays. They would not have video inputs. You would be able to connect your Surface Pro 4 to an external monitor. However, the Surface Pro 4 would not have a USB C output. It would utilize a Mini DisplayPort output. Such as product # 12799.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it would not work with the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch does not support third party USB C video adapters. Currently the Switch is only known to work with its docking station for video purposes.

BEST ANSWER: I use it with A WACOM table that has 3 Type-C USB plugs, and it must be plugged into the center of the 3 (the middle one) which is the same plug that must be used when charging the WACOM tablet.. That WACOM tablet is the only device I have with Type-C connections.
