Monoprice Blackbird HDMI Extender over Single 100m CAT6 (TCP/IP) with IR Support
Monoprice Blackbird HDMI Extender Over Cat6, 50m, EDID, Loop Out
BEST ANSWER: I use the extender from my source to a splitter, then into two TVs. That seems to work well for me with no issues in the signal. But it seems like you are trying to go the other way. In that case, I am not sure? I would imagine that it should work, but you may lose some distance. You may not get the range from the extenders that they are estimated to send the signal. If your distance is shorter than their max range, I bet you will be ok. But if you're trying to go their maximum range you may run into some issues.

Thats exactly the setup that we are running now and we have had no issues thus far. One feeds a local monitor and two feed the extenders which go to displays in other rooms. We switch between a live camera feed and PC without problems. Go for it!

I don't think you need the splitter at all. You can keep looping the extender and each one has an HDMI out. Enjoy; these things are great!

how do I change the IP address so I can have multiple RX & TX on the same network?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, I use several of these throughout the museum where I work. To be clear, these are not networked devices (despite the TCP/IP in the description. These devices use a point to point dedicated run of CAT6 cable -- there is no IP address as there is no "network". You must run a dedicated cable between devices. Also, this is not a point to multi-point solution (i.e you cannot have one transmitter and several receivers) all this does is create a "cable" that is longer than HDMI will natively support.

Just hooked mine up and ran into some questions. First what I did:
1. I was testing a camera source (actually two... a GoPro which worked direct to the ATEM and a DSLR which worked direct to the ATEM) into the transmitter, then CAT6 cable to receiver, to ATEM Mini Pro. We got no signal. (swapping cameras, cables, etc., and removing the ATEM from the picture and went straight from the cameras to a small flat panel monitor... the monitor said no signal)
2. I hooked it up at my house from my laptop to a flat pane and all worked - the first hookup with the camera and the ATEM I did not pay attention to the connection and power up order.
So, my questions: 1) Is the connection/startup sequence really this important, 2) how finicky is this, and 3) I had a short signal drop out between the computer and the tv flat panel that is working now, is that common?

BEST ANSWER: I have found that GoPros and ATEMs, especially through baluns like this are a finicky at best. My understanding is that the output from the GoPro is slightly odd. So I typically have the ATEM up and running, boot the GoPro and make sure it's set to an output that that balun and ATEM like (such as 1920x1080p, I have never had luck with 4K) and then power cycle the extenders and hope the ATEM sees the signal. I've also never been able to send the signal 100M, ever..

Works well. Easy to use.
If it was ?power over cable? I?d give it 5+ stars. Simple plug and play.

Great HDMI extender
This works great in situations where you need to use CAT6 due to distance and/or get through conduit.

Great for production
Although I use the 50m extender for projects at home, I prefer this one for streaming live shoots. I would not use this on a prime camera, but we often need to send a GoPro signal from far away bonus wide shots. This item works well to send the signal and actually stabilize/normalize the GoPro output for those of you that may use this with an ATEM switcher. The GoPro is notorious for not playing well with the ATEM, even through BMD converters.

HDMI extender
This is a great product. I purchased this to replace another HD Tbase extender that failed after 6 years of use (the receiver was mounted to the back of a TV on my deck that was outdoors exposed to the elements but under a roof). So it was seeing temp swings of -10 to +90 deg F as well as high humidity levels 24/7. The new extender setup is located in the same way. The only problem I have is the remote IR receiver tends to drop out and I have to unplug the extender receiver to get the IR to work. I use the extender to run the TV signal from a set-top box over ~120 ft of cat6 cable. Other than the IR issue things are working great.

Works flawlessly
We used this to extend a screen to a remote area of our facility over our existing network. This was a temporary setup so we didn't want to invest in a more expensive fiber system, so we took a chance with this device. In total the distance between the sending switch and receiving switch was about 1.5 miles. We use a mix of singlemode & multimode fiber connecting the switches back to the core where everything is centrally connected. This system connected almost instantly upon obtaining an IP address. The system was in production for 3 weeks running 24/7 and we did not have a single issue.

Worked great for HDMI ins and outs. Going from Mini DP IN to HDMI OUT resulted in visual compression that was noticeable.

Good alternative for a long run
Good alternative for a long run, up to 80-90 feet. Depends on how much signal youre pushing, Basic HDMI goes farther than a bigger signal 4k 3d return etc. Another factor is connectors. a straight run goes farther than going from source to a wall pass through, long run, another wall pas through etc. Cat6 cable will go a little farther than Cat5.
