BEST ANSWER: A little smaller than 18 gauge. I'd say 20/22 gauge. You're on using 5 volts so I doubt there ever could be a problem. You can Google for maximum lengths.

Works as intended and price is great. Would be nice if both the 6 foot and 10 foot lengths were made the same instead of one having a rubber casing and the other having the nice soft covering.
