Can you provide a current installation manual for this product? I ordered this exact part number (# 1044) and the component I received looks nothing like the one on this product page or the provided manual.
the once I recieved, even though the model number mactch was not the poduct in the pic.
the product I received was not the one pictured above.the keystone above is great and eay to work with. The once I got was the opposite of that. the one I got had a clear top that folded down towards the back. the once I received was impossible to do do toolless. the package model number was the same as what is listed for this pictured. again the one in the pic is great, the once I recived was not the one I orderd or was in the pic and was not easy to use.,
If you're new to running RJ-45 and want to save money by not getting a punch down tool, look elsewhere. That was me. First time running RJ-45 and figured I may never need a punchdown tool ever again.
The idea behind this product is to seat the wires in the correct spot, then clamp them down into the connectors. In theory, it's a great idea. In practice, clamping things down does require a tool (the included plastic lever isn't enough) and the connectors don't cut into the wire jackets enough to create a strong connection. This literally requires a tool and still doesn't actually do what it's supposed to do.
I haven't saved any time (I've spent 2+ hours troubleshooting this) and unless I can get a refund on these, I'll end up spending more money than I would have just getting a punchdown tool in the first place. In top of that, a project I was hoping to complete today probably won't be finished until next weekend since I'll need to order different keystone jacks as well as the punchdown tool.
These are garbage. They are toolless, however the wires will not seat into the connectors. I even used my punchdown, and I could still not get a solid connection. I threw these away and luckily I had a couple of my older connectors on hand to finish the job.
Perhaps it's because I am using the 23AWG cable, but none of these work, with or without a punchdown tool. THey don't even bring link lights to any of my devices. I can terminate with a normal RJ45 jack and a tester just fine, but once I finish with these keystone jacks the transmission is null. I'll end up ordering something else, just wish I could return them (its been a minute)
These are too wide to fit side-by-side in the 24 port patch panel. Part of this is the jack size and other part is the leftover wire after trimming (since not punched down and cut). I ended up ordering a 16 port patch panel (from other vendor) to fit these in.
Terrible, do not buy. It takes me a couple minutes to terminate punch down keystone jacks and RJ-45 plugs. This toolless keystone took me 30 minutes each time and 2/3 failed to test out so I had to redo them only to have 1/2 fail to test out. Ended up buying punch down keystone jacks and had them terminated and tested within a few minutes on the first try.
