is the ferrite core moveable?

BEST ANSWER: The ferrite core is fused to the cable. If it's not in a spot that's appropriate for you, my suggestion is buy a cable without a ferrite core, then buy a separate ferrite core that you can attach yourself (they normally clip on).

I'm looking to replace my Dash Cam cable with this, as the one that came with it causes interference with my FM radio. Has anyone used this cable to solve a similar issue?

BEST ANSWER: I used this cable to make my dashcam compatible with a USB charger to free up the cig outlet. I haven't had any issues. The cable itself won't cause interference, but whatever you plug it into might. I suppose it is possible a bad cig outlet adapter it might be broadcasting noise over the cable.

I have used this for my radio as well but for navigation from my cell phone. I found out from a local dealership that most after market cables will not work well with your car's usb port depending on the year make and model of your vehicle. But I find this works pretty well for its intended purpose. Sometimes it doesnt work too too well though and seems to disconnect and reconnect on its own, but at least it works most of the time for me as long as I dont play with my phone too much while it is connected. I have another one of these cables I bought at a gas station that doesnt work with it at all, so this works pretty ok for an after market cable. I have one at my desk as well and it works there even better than any of my other cables. It is also very sturdy with thick wire coverage. Definitely worth the price I paid for the two of them. I had them for avout half a year now.

It works

It's a cable, it appropriately charges the device for which it was purchased. And it has been used to update the firmware on a couple of hard to remove devices I have mounted on the wall in my home office.
