Will this work with a DJ controller (Xlr booth out) to an active speaker (rca in) or do I need left and right rca on the rca in?

XLR booth out is really meant to run to a mixer. As long as you can control the signal level from the booth out and it's not just a strict line level signal, you should be fine. This will be a mono signal so no need for left and right RCAs.

This is a 'single channel' cable that converts the XLR (mono) output to a mono RCA. A stereo application requires two XLR outputs (right and left) and you would need 2 of these cables, one to each R & L speaker.

You will need one per channel. I did this from a rack tape unit to an amplifier and it worked well , but I needed one for each side.

I use them between my R2R(reel to reel) which has RCA I/O and my PreAmp which has XLR I/O, yes they should work.

Can I use this cable to connect my Yamaha MG12XU mixer to Denon Receiver? It would be XLR female (output) to the input of Denon Receiver (RCA). I want to hook up a microphone to the mixer and output the sound to my home theater speaker through the receiver.

BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. Yes this item will work fine for your application just as long as your receiver does in fact have a compatible input. I hope this helps, and of course if you have any more questions feel free to contact us!

Actually this cable can be dangerous to your equipment; grounding the black wire will short one of the balanced output legs of a preamp, potentially overheating/damaging the internal circuitry.
I have to wonder why even make an unbalanced cable with an unnecessary conductor.

I was expecting a nice budget cable. What I received is a really nice cable. They have a premium feel and look to them. I'm using them for my LFE outs to a older pro amp for subs and they work great. Would recommend for sure.

Great product
It was perfect! Was the right length and worked perfectly. So you know I was connecting a singers Jamcube PA to a churchs Mackie speakers while still maintaining the usefulness of the churchs sound board. Both systems worked together with no problems. Thanks for having a product where I didnt have to use adapters.

Simple connections to anything with RCA input; up n rocking in seconds.
Great product and Great value as always. Nearly universal compatibility as just about EVERYTHING you'll ever want to connect your mic to will have RCA inputs.

Neat Cable
Look this isn't rocket science. It's a cable after all. No need for funky adapters, just connects to my preamp's XLR output and has sufficient length to connect to the RCA input on my powered subwoofer. Is there a sound quality improvement? Who knows? I mean, I crossover at 80 Hz and I'm on Medicare now. All I know is the signal gets to where it belongs and works!
