Is this power outlet plug horizontal or vertical?
ANNETTE W.
on Aug 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It’s vertical. The top plug goes into the top outlet with a support nub in the bottom section. Use the screw provided to replace the screw on the plate cover of the outlet to hold it securely in place.

It's vertical, ie in the normal outlet configuration, so the way it looks in the pictures is the way it would look plugged in (assuming your outlets are vertical!).

Can you plug a 5 outlet power tap into this?

BEST ANSWER: I plugged an extension cord into this wall outlet for Christmas items and had no issues with power, so assume a tap would work well too.

I don't see why not. Just be aware of the amperage of the breaker connected to your outlet.

What is the plastic tab on the bottom for? I just bought this and cant use it because that is in the way. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. If you are referring to the plastic tab on the back of the unit then that would be used to hold it in place when you connect it to a wall outlet that has 2 sockets. This unit will require to be plugged into the top socket of a 2 socket wall outlet.

Just what I needed
I use this unit in the kitchen. The two USB charging ports are great. They eliminated those silly power adapters. It?s a much streamlined kitchen. I could use another couple of USB ports but this unit works very well.

The light on top is obnoxiously bright. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before purchasing it.
The USB ports also don't charge my phone or my tablet at full speed.

Light up the night
The light on the top of the unit is too bright. We simply need an indicator that the unit is still not functional not to illuminate the room. My wife could not sleep due to the amount of light this unit produced.

Have two of these
Perfect for our guest bedroom. Nobody has to ask to borrow a power adapter.
These work with the conventional outlets that have a plate screw in the middle.
