BEST ANSWER: As Michael Y stated, "Crimped Connectors" are least likely to catch fire because of separation between the wires vs wires molded into the connector which can move together inside the housing during the manufacturing process. The middle type connector, a pass through type with blades that contact the wires, is also safer than the molded connector. The right angle SATA connector that has an end cap with lugs touching the wires is safer than the molded version of the right angle connector. If you have connectors, which most DIY's do, you should check your supply and take the molded version out of service. I cut the molded connectors off and reuse the wires and crimped Molex connectors to lengthen or make custom connectors as needed.
Molded connectors -NO
Crimped connectors -YES
Blade type connectors (pass through or end termination type) - YES

The problem you are referring to happens with soldered and molded connectors. This adapter has open-ended, crimped connectors.

Works but might need to try other modulars on the same or different cable
Somehow the pin is either a little off or something (big). Doesnt work on all modulars as some will not fit. End up juggling between the modulars on the same cable to work. Anyhow end up not needing it and not worth returning for a few dollars.

Excellent Constrution
The design was of top quality. Shrink tubing and nylon tubing was that we used on aircraft parts we built. Very pleased with product. Glad I purchased extra quantity. 6 each. Only needed one.

Just what I needed for a power supply repair.
A friend of mine had burned the SATA plugs on his power supply, so I had purchased these in hopes of reviving it. These cables are very good quality, sturdy, and worked excellent.

Great quality, but could be a little longer
I have bought the 3-way SATA adapter before, so this was a no-brainer choice for my latest build. However, the 2-way adapter was too short for my case because the hard drive and DVD drive SATA ports did not face the same way. It's a good thing I needed another cable for my RAID, so I did not have to send it back. I ended up using a 4-way cable for a 2-drive PC. With a multi-HDD setup in a standard tower, you will have no issues with this cable, but in a mini-ITX, you could be 1" short between the drives.
PROS: Quality product, easy to use and looks good
CONS: Please bring back the 3-way adapter or make this 1' shorter

Perfect!
I needed this as my 3 year old computer was out of SATA power connectors but still had two available 4-pin connectors. I was able to connect this to one of the available 4-pin connectors, allowing me to connect two more SATA SSD hard drives to my computer. It worked exactly as desired!
