Would these fit cat6 wire?
Jordan C
on Jun 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This will fit Cat6 cable just fine; however, this would be intended for flat ethernet cable. If you are using round ethernet cable, I would recommend PID 7266 if your cable is solid or PID 7267 if your cable is stranded. If you are unsure of the cable being solid or stranded, it should state which one it is on the cable jacket or the packaging.
Feel free to reach out to our Technical Support team if you have further questions. They would be more than happy to be of assistance.

Will this work on a flat cat6 cable with 30awg wires?
A shopper
on Oct 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I do not think so., I have flat ethernet with 30awg wires and the wires pass easily underneath the "divider" that's supposed to keep each wire in its own "lane" or "channel" basically I feel like the wires are too small for these RJ45 ends.

Not for thin cables
Flat cable is not the same as thin cable. A lot of the cables that are flat are also thin. I bought this assuming they all are thin and learned the hard way they aren't. You just can't make this work on 30AWG wire. Not only the wires are floating randomly inside the plug. I stuck the individual wires on a transparent tape, aligned the perfect and then clipped them. Not a single pair worked - somehow the contacts go next to the wire and avoid contact. There are plugs that are designed for thin cables. Those are hard to find and definitely not these ones.

Exactly like every other rj45 connector I've used and it just works. I couldn't ask for more
PROS: They just work. I've only used about 10 so far, but they work perfectly if you use a good crimp tool. My tool does not compress the retention tab like others have mentioned, so I didn't have that problem, but it is a problem of their tool, not the connector.
CONS: None so far

Excellent
These worked excellent for my needs. I did experience the plug coming out of the jack and actually noticed that one of my crimpers is compressing the retention tab. I gently bent it back out and all was well. Problem with my crimper as it happened with other types of RJ plugs I have used.

Works as directed!
PROS: Works well, I've made about 10 cables and so far so good. Great for the price.

Disappointing. Should've bought these elsewhere.
I should've believed the other reviews. I figured, it's only $5. But I wasted an hour crimping a dozen cables to find out the clips won't keep the plugs in-socket. But them elsewhere.
PROS: Easy to crimp.
CONS: Clips don't keep plugs in sockets. Cables fall out.

High failure rate
I ran out of RJ45 plugs and ordered a bag of 50 of these RJ45 plugs. I only use these around the house when I need an especially long cable. Unlike my experiences with those that I exhausted, those that I purchased have had a failure rate of over 50%. I have not changed tools or technique. But these just don't seem to want to work first try. I'm tired of do-overs.
PROS: Inexpensive and arrived very quickly with the rest of my order. Yay Monoproce.
CONS: Very high installation failure rate.
