No, but if you get pass through make sure you trim the wire at the pass through properly cut straight down when trimming otherwise you will get conflicting results

BEST ANSWER: These are not "pass through" connectors, but the EZ-RJ45 crimp tool will crimp these connectors.

Thanks, John. So the crimping will work. However, I just noticed the answer above, by Gary T. Pass through is what the EZ-RJ45 connectors are, where you push the eight wires through a few inches, rather than having to cut them to exact length and pushing them to the front end of the connector. You pull them through, then crimp. Makes it so much easier than the "old fashioned" way. Perhaps the EZ-RJ45 connectors are patented? If not, Monoprice should sell them, they're quite pricey...

Would using this plug with CAT6 cable affect the cable's speed and bandwidth?

BEST ANSWER: The biggest issue you'll run into is that the CAT6 cable wires will not fit in this plug. CAT6 wires are a slightly larger size than CAT5e. I ran into this issue when I ran out of CAT6 connectors during a project. They just simply won't fit. Highly recommend you stick with using the connectors that match the wire.

Yes and no. Depends on many factors. the main difference between these and the cat6 connectors is the ability to use 23 gauge wire and maintain the max .5" of unraveled twist.

I have used with Monoprice's AWG 24 solid core cat5e cable and it worked great. I haven't used with a 22 AWG which will have thicker wires. I bet they will work fine.

Worked Well
Have worked well so far. The wire feeds into them easily and the pins all appear to engage with the wire when crimped. They test good up to at least 1Gbps speeds. Important note, these are not passthrough ends, I wasn't looking for passthrough so they work well for me, if you want passthrough this isn't for you.

We have used these at work for many years, and have probably crimped over 2000 of them. They work just as good as the more expensive brands, but at a fraction of the cost.

I received my order promptly and completely. I don't have much experience with rj45's other than a couple attempts to attach one about 25 yrs ago. It was a pain in the @$$ then, but networking was very new to us then also. I installed a few of these without a hitch. Maybe a different design? Don't know, but I'm very satisfied.

NON-Locking...
These are fine, save for the fact they aren't like the picture. They DO NOT lock in the jack. ...Worthless to most.

I have used other RJ 45
There are many types, my fave are the pass-thru and then trim the end. These are not so stuff the wires in trimmed and straight.
