The insert slides out making it easy to snap jack in. It can be confusing determine which way is up though. Also sliding it back in takes a couple of tries. I don't like lettering on top of box, when I put label with jack # it does not cover all the lettering on the box, so it can make the label confusing with the other lettering showing around the edges.
I don't think you'll find a deal anywhere better than this, it works and costs way less than you'll find anywhere else. Its pretty compact and space efficient and comes with tape or screws for mounting.
Solid construction. Very very pleased for the price!
One important question though. Once a jack is snapped into the front plate, is it possible to take it back out? I'm pressing on the tab but it won't seem to release, and I know these are brittle plastic parts. I foolishly installed the wrong type keystone jack in there upon opening the package, just to see how it looks. Now I need to get it back out. Thanks!
PROS: Good construction Good mounting solution Good price
we used these with monoprice parts 6576 and 644 in a computer lab. Having these jacks on the front of computers, saves us the wear and tear of people plugging in and unplugging their headphones. Spending under $3 per machine saves us from replacing worn out jacks on the motherboards!
