Works great vet Doyle product. Don't pay for a more expensive piece of plastic, stick with monoprice.
Easy to use product, for a handy-ish man. I was able to install this easily without any technical knowledge and it worked great for my purposes. The only thing that I was concerned about when purchasing this product online was the build quality. After getting it I found that the quality was adequate - not heavy duty, but strong enough to mount a 3 gang face plate securely. I bought two of them and one of the four screws on one mounting bracket did not engage and tighten down to the dry wall, but the piece still held securely. I was also concerned because my plan was to cut the two interior vertical pieces to allow the cables and wires to pass freely through the mounting bracket. I found that they were optional support pieces and the instructions indicated that they could be removed, so I did. Wire cutters on my needle nose pliers worked great.
Better than the brands carried by others... Even though it is thinner and doesn't look like it would mount a wall plate as well, it is better than the thicker orange versions at the box home supply stores. I have purchased in the past. I have since replaced all of my orange LV brackets with these since they stay very close to the wall when tightened. Much better quality.
I read reviews from a few other reviewers complaining about 3 single gang plates will not fit, and I was compelled to write this review - Please Note, but before I say anything - I have no affiliation with Monoprice - Now, with that being said - bIn general single gang plates never fit in doubles or triple brackets.. at least the U.S. standard ones/b Meaning if you have a double bracket be it Levitton or Carlton (most common ones from Lowes or HD) try that - take 2 of medium or even small faceplates and try to fit them to cover
They will ALWAYS overlap. It is not a Monoprice design flaw. It IS the design of multi-facet brackets.
CONS: I request Monoprice to call out clearly somewhere in bold letters that this 3 gang fixture does not actually fit 3 single gang wall plates.
Cut holes in the walls, finished wiring and fixing the keystones etc and then realized that the wall plates do not fit in the space. Thinking of placing 2 wall plates and custom cut piece to cover up in the middle
