Is this meant to be installed on sheet rocked walls or on wall studs for new construction?

BEST ANSWER: Sheet rock walls. These boxes are for supporting outlet covers for any low voltage items like rj45/rj11/Coax connectors that can be run directly under the drywall. These are not made to be drilled into studs. These are meant to be in an open space of drywall for best fit and installation.

BEST ANSWER: I believe they're made of ABS. I don't have any on hand at the moment to check, and (to be honest) I never thought about it much - but the weight, degree of flexibility, and (I seem to remember) smell all say "ABS" to me.

BEST ANSWER: This has a significant depth of the mounting screws, so it should work fine. However, for the low price Monoprice charges for these, BUY ONE AND TRY IT! That's the best answer to your question.

You can replace the tightening screws with longer ones, if you need to. Replacement screws should be less than $.25.

BEST ANSWER: Yes this will work just fine together. One item to note though is that when I used this setup the Keystones were VERY tight together but DID work. One thing I learned as I'm new to doing this myself, was there is an up and a down on the wall plate relative to the keystones. Would have saved me some trouble had I known that.

Can anyone confirm if these wall plates (any of the single, double, quads) meet flush with the wall when using the low-voltage mounting brackets [Product Number: 7013]. I have wall plates from 2 other sources that do not - there is about an 1/8" gap between the outer flange of the wallplate and the wall when fully mounted.

Will this screw into securely into the "1-Gang Low Voltage Mounting Bracket" (item 703)? Not into the oval holes at the edges, but the circular holes towards the inside. I have a different wall plate but the screws align with the oval holes on the mounting bracket and does not fit securly.

Tracing the inside of the bracket doesn't make a large enough hole to fit the bracket. Is it normal to expand the hole by free-hand cutting?

3 hole wall plate 6729 and mounting bracket 7013 can't be used with keystones 5384. The keystone will not clear the bracket, preventing the wall plate from being screwed in place. Monoprice product supports says that either keystone 1044 or keystone 15656 will work. Hope this saves some frustration for someone.

Instruction is incorrect but the bracket itself gets the job done
Paper instruction says flip the bracket over and use the inside for marking the wall opening, and this totally doesn't work. The correct way is to use the two outside trace lines to mark 2 lines, turn it upside down and trace the other 2 lines. Cause me quite a bit of frustration until I figured that out.

Easy to use and a great finished look.
I love these things. I wish I had known about them when I bought my house. I would have had less strange and random holes in wall with a cable sticking through them. I ran across mention of them in a post someplace, looked them up, and instantly fell in love with them. They make my wall and home neater and cleaner looking, and make my wife not tell me my work looks like crap. I would recommend them to anyone who is running new cable, or looking to upgrade what is already in place for aesthetics.

inexpensive low voltage brackets
The only negative is that the mounting flages are capable of falling off in case you turn the screws the wrong way. then you have to fish for them in the wall. One possible improvement woudl be to prevent this.

As Advertised, but can break
Bought Four (4) of these, all went in fine as needed but one, the in wall piece on one of them broke off and dropped into wall. Will have to purchase a replacement at some point, but not until shipping is worth the purchase with other items.

Tv mount setup
Bought two mounting brackets, two brush pass through face plates and the TV mount for 1/3 of the price found from traditional box stores or their web sites. Finished product is clean and seamless. Couldn?t be happier with it!

Going on 10 Years Strong...
Purchased and installed two of these 10 years ago, and they have been completely solid. Still surprised at the quality at such a low price. Monoprice makes the best product!
