Is this box waterproof?
Norman K
on Aug 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The box is not waterproof. It is painted steel and has no gasket around door. It is not NEMA approved for outdoor use. It does work great for dry locations. Produces a bit more than 13 amps on load. Holds 12 v at 12 amp draw. Steady, quiet power. Good unit. Runs 8 - 1.5 amp cameras continuously.

It is NOT waterproof, not even remotely resistant to water or moisture, no seals. Should be installed in a dry area.

No. Does not have any gaskets or seals. I would not even consider it resistant.

Can I double the current to my camera by wiring together two channel outputs in parallel?
Robert H S
on Jan 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: In theory, yes you can double the current by wiring two DC circuits together in parallel. However, this depends on your load. Since this is not the intended use, I would recommend purchasing a power supply that is designed for your cameras.

No, this is a single phase device, a double feed would likely burn out the fuses.

Do these meet Level V or Level VI energy U.S. standards?

BEST ANSWER: Since these are made in China and are not UL approved, I doubt very much if they meet any standards, other than, maybe, not catching fire.

I would like to use this PS to support 6 motorized shades. These shades are currently powered via 12v, 1.8a dc transformer. Will I have an issue using this device as a central power source?
A shopper
on Apr 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The answer is yes. Although this is sold as a camera power supply, the included power supply is sold all over the web for use with a 3D printer. As long as the amp rating is not exceed there should be no problem. Also, be sure to use an appropriately sized wire probably 16-18AWG (depending on distance, also CL2 if you are going to install it inside walls. Check out security system installation wire.

Anyone actually measure, with a multi-meter, how many amps per channel? Trying to see if I can use it for something else that is not a camera. I need 12V 1.5AMPs min. Thanks!

For those that used this for the Bali shades. What gauge wire did you use? Did you also buy premade USB connector? Also, what side of the window is the plug and did you drill through the window frame?

Excellent power supply
I purchased this to power 8 decurity cameras because each camera had its own wall rat and I wasn't about to have 8 of those to deal with, this was a much better option. I absolutely love this power supply. Great price and it works great.

Supply power to motorized blinds
I use it to supply power to 7 Bali Blinds for normal to big size windows.
I trigger them all at the same time and there is no issue with power.
