BEST ANSWER: The cable, jack and wall plate(s) will all play together nicely. One thing to note. This particular jack does not provide a ground tongue. So, if you use the shielded CAT6 cable you will not be able to terminate the ground lead onto this jack. You will need a CAT6 jack that supports shielding/grounding. If you don't care about connecting the ground - then you're good to go.

Why does this wall plate not come in brown?

BEST ANSWER: You can paint any color you like, I painted mine the same color as the ceiling so no one can see the plate.. I think the white color default is used because it is considered as outlet plate, such as light switch plate.

BEST ANSWER: We installed "Mud Rings" prior to drywall. We have also used Low-voltage faceplate mounting brackets that clamp onto existing drywall., these are sold by Monoprice.

They’re intended to be installed using a box. I suppose you figure a way to attached without one.

Now there are faster and cheaper options
It used to be that Monoprice was the best option for low voltage connectors, but now they are pretty much the online version of Fry's.
Things were good when they actually stocked and shipped from their SoCal location, but then they had to go Big Time, and now orders are drop shipped from god-knows-where.
Good luck getting your order on time!
Sad to see a business like this go, but they made some terrible choices along the way, and now the vast majority of the items they offer are available faster and cheaper from the big box boys.

Almost a near perfect item.
Well made and gets the job done. Try your best to get it installed right the first time. The screws don?t hold up well to being removed and reinstalled multiple times.

Great plates, cheap price, jacks go in snug. I'm only leaving one star off because there is no label window. If that doesn't bother you then these will be 5 star for you.

Not as expected
Purchased these items from Monoprice since they were cheaper than what I would have paid at the big box store. The Cat5E keystones that I purchased wouldn't snap in, and I had to seek plates as well, that just worked.
