Is this item (part # 6540) rated for 50 ohms?

BEST ANSWER: Doesn’t say for sure. Since they have it listed as a video connector, I assumed it was 75 ohm. But it would technically pass signal and work just fine.

In broadcasting, we used BNC (and other) barrel adapters in both 50 and 75 ohm applications. Never had a problem.

Are these 75Ohm connectors?

BEST ANSWER: In broacasting, we used to use both 75 and 50 ohm cables with barrel adapters like this. They worked fine at both impedances. My application with this keystone uses it at 50 ohms. I use it with an amateur radio transmitter putting 100 watts through it with no problem.

Does this take a special plate? I ordered the keystone plates from this site but the BNC couplers do not fit, I'm doing something wrong, or do I have the wrong plates?

Do these fit plate with pid: 6727? I have some that appear to be the same size? But do not click on. The blanks and RJ-45 fit fine.

BEST ANSWER: The plates I used for a variety of keystone devices all fit every device. The BNC keystone is funny. The recessed side faces out/toward the room. This seems counter-intuitive, but it's how they are used. My BNC jacks are mounted in the bottom 2 holes in a 6-hole plate and fit fine. The only issues I had with keystones in these plates involved keystones being so big that they made it hard to insert devices in adjacent holes. You wouldn't have that problem with the 2-hole plate.

Are these compatible with SDI?
A shopper
on Nov 1, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I have used them multiple times with 3G SDI (1080P). By looking at it, it appears to be a 50 Ohm Connector, but as I said, I have used it multiple times (mostly with SDI to HDMI Adapters for TVs) with no issues..

warning: check dimensions with a sample unit
Datasheets did not provide dimensions. Warning: the sides of this BNC keystone mounting will not allow for adjacent keystone units in a 24-position panel.

Good device
Used for radio equipment. Ran 100 watts at amateur radio frequencies through it with no problems. Note that recessed side of keystone faces into the room/away from the box. Seems like it ought to be the other way around but isn't.

Great, but not for 6-hole wall plates.
2/5
PROS: Good fit and finish for general use.
CONS: Due to the way the *sides* of the jack overlap with the faceplate, They CANNOT be placed side-by-side when installed into 6-slot face plates without removing a bit of material with a razor. If you are planning on using a lot of these in 6-hole plates, you'll either to either keep them only vertically adjacent, or plan on a little plastic trimming with your pocket knife.

Good Product
Used this product to install my nine camera security DVR setup. Works fine, as noted in the cons it was a little hard to install them in a six gang wall plate (PID 6733) a pretty tight on the fit but it does go in. I would recommend this product to anyone as the quality is on par with the same more expensive items that you find in store and on line.
PROS: Great value for the price works great with the security DVR camera setup.
CONS: A little hard to install in 6 hole gang plate but it works fine.

perfect
Recieve item along with 2 gang 12 holes keystone wallplate and unfortunately, it doesn't fit. I have to grind down 1 side of the bnc keystone adapter to make it fit. If u want to install these onto the 2 gang 12 holes keystone wallplate, I advise you to get a grinding disc and grind 1 side of the bnc keystone adapter. So it will be like this, on 1st gang, install 4 bnc keystone adapter on one side from top to bottom, than the other 4 reminding, use a grinder to grind one side so it will fit side by side with the other bnc keystone adapter. Repeat on the 2nd gang and vola, done. It will clean and the bnc cable fit nice and neat on the wallplate.
PROS: Easy to install, looks very nice and clean
CONS: Does not fit on "2 gang 12 hole keystone wallplate" other than that, item is very will made.

As a point of clarification, these do support 50 ohm signal pass thru for antenna / radio usage. I have suffered no quality loss in my signal utilizing these with 50 ohm cable.

I bought 8 of these for my CCTV setup. I wanted them all on a single 2 gang plate, but the connectors are large on the back so they will not fit side by side on the 2 gang plate (Product ID 6835). I now need to buy individual 4 keystone plates (Product ID6731) and put them separately next to each other. It wont be as pretty, but still a great deal and the quality is awesome. Also the keystones are very big and there appears to be a tiny gap at the bottom of each on when inserted into the plate even though they snap into place.
Thanks, Monoprice.
PROS: price can't be beat. Great quality.
CONS: Will not fit in 2 gang keystone Product :6835
