Can this pedal be used to enhance the sound on a tube amp's overdrive channel (i.e., to get a more saturated overdrive) or is this best for playing through an amp's clean channel? Also, when the description mentions a "gain" knob, does it really mean "volume"? I don't see a gain knob on this pedal. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: I use mine in an effects loop to boost overdrive that is in the loop. I can get that Mississippi Queen sound with the boost of the Monoprice, and a good overdrive sound. I decided to try it, when a professional musician on youtube was talking about using 2 different overdrive/distortion setups for one rich sound. So I thought, perhaps this will make that rich sound I wasn't getting, and it did.

I only have a single channel tube amp but I use this pedal with a LovePedal OD11 to get more saturation and it works well for that. It has a volume knob, small in top left corner and a white gain knob in the center. For the price this is a nice soounding pedal.

I just received mine and use it to stack on to my Green Knight Overdrive pedal for more gain so you should buy it and try it and hear for yourself which way will work best for you.

Anyone know how this compares to the Donner Morpher, Mooer Solo or Suhr Riot?

BEST ANSWER: Donner Morpher is distortion. The other two you named are reverb. All of those are lower end pedals… this pedal is inexpensive but decent little overdrive pedal, it’s more of a volume boost and different from the other pedals.

Can this be used to enhance an amp's overdrive channel or is it best used through a clean amp?
Andrew R
on Sep 22, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I think its best to use it on the clean channel, however, its good on the overdriven channel as well. I like to switch between overdriven, and clean, so using it on the clean channel makes it for easy switching.

Great for Bass
I play bass guitar and distortion is the only effect that works at gig levels. This overdrive pedal has good range from light overdrive to full metal distortion. It's also small and easy to transport. I love it!

Doesn't take up much space in the gig bag!

Satisfied nicely
With a few other pedals, like distortion and chorus, I needed just a small amount of boost for lead and some other portions of the song to accent my guitar. When engaging the monoproce boost pedal, I was happy that I found only a louder signal that did not add or subtract the high or low or color of my sound. Thanks, cecil

I wouldn't recommend. Get a different brand.
Not a very good pedal, no clean boost, undefined static tone.

Great Buy
The Overdrive is versatile and easy to operate. Want to get that Mississippi Queen sound? This a must buy for P90 PU in a guitar. Want a superfat Strat or Tele or a fat humbucker sound; this is what you need.
