Hi, I purchased these and learned that they did not accommodate barn doors so we ended up returning them and buying the zoomable version.

How does this fixture zoom? The description says there is a zoom feature. Also, please take a better look at the fixtures you are emulating. Your fixtures have no bottom or top method of holding a gel frame. The gel frame just slides out and falls on the floor. I wanted to add a frost gel, but, that is not possible unless I tape it in place.

BEST ANSWER: We used the zoom option with the console. It worked very well.. If you want to attach a gel frame, I think you could possibly order gel clips (I think the holes are almost exactly like the ones for the source 4 fixture) and try that.. I'll verify when i get to my shop and try to post an update.

Zooming is accomplished through your DMX controller or software. Not sure why you need the gel, but taping it on is an accepted method. The LED doesn't really generate heat. I've seen people use paper towels as diffusers.

BEST ANSWER: This is a pretty bright light. I would give it about 20-30 of throw to your performers. You want them to hit at a 45° angle to the stage.

Do you happen to know what the Kelvin color rating of the white light for this fixture is? I recently purchased your SR LED Ellipsoidal with a 3200K rating and would like to match it, if possible. Thanks!

For Product # 612712, the Stage Wash 18x18W LED PAR Stage Light with Zoom (RGBWA-UV)
I am running a 6 channel board.
With this fixture on 7-Channel mode. Does the Zoom default to 8 degrees, or does it stay set on whatever it had been before the DMX was hooked up?
It would be great if someone was willing to test this. On a 6 channel/dimmer board assign it channel 1, on a 12 channel board assign it to dimmer 7, on a 24 channel board assign it to #19.
Thanks,

How does the zoom work? Is the overall output reduced when zoomed to 8 degrees, or is the same output concentrated into the smaller space?

Good Fixture with just a couple of issues
Satisfied with the overall performance and quality. A Powercon A/C connector would be a great improvement to this fixture as opposed to the attached cord.
Out of the 8 fixtures I bought, 2 of them had broken tightening knobs that Monoprice wouldn't replace, short of doing an R/A for the whole fixture. Too much trouble so I just sourced the knobs on Amazon. Also, I replaced the washers on the yokes as well because the plastic washers are just too slippery. They are next to impossible to tighten securely and can be a pain in the A$$ to re-tighten once they're up in the air.

Knobs!!
Yes the units are pretty good lighting wise... good features... zoom is nice... birght yet bit noisy fan but can work with that in many situations.. but out of the 20...... I purchased need to replace knobs on at least 6 that came broken or in pcs..... I dont have time to source this out now... but hope Monoprice steps up and get them for me.

As described
These came in as described and work great. The only negative was the poor quality of the yoke knobs. Out of 12 lights, 4 knobs were broken. I started a return but ended up purchasing replacement knobs for those 4 and cancelled return. The knob part is different but they work great. If you need replacement knobs, these work great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R478LQX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Fans are noisy
The fans are too noisy to add 26 lights to the stage area. I like the lights if they had no fan.

A good starter parlite
In general the product is a good product. However two of the knobs that tighten the yolks on the light broke by hand tightening them. The fans are always on. Which creates noise. But the zoom feature is awesome. And the RGB aw UV is nice as well.

great lights
These worked great for the job I need to light - a small theater show in a black box theater with 12 ft to the grid. In such a small space the director hated the clunking sound of the color scrollers I used to use. The spread of these lights is decent as well as the intensity. They do have fans which whirl, but is more a white noise than the clunking stop and starts of the scrollers. Also they produce much less heat.
