Ya it can just by pass the power supply hook the ten AA batteries to the other end of the power supply an that's that don't try this if your not familiar with electronic devices what goes into the circuit board is about 10 to 12v

not directly. it is 110/120 volt household current. you would need an inverter to operate off a battery.

Is this loud enough to play with another person?
A shopper
on Feb 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: 20W will get pretty loud. If you like full distortion then you can crank it up and play with some others. If you like a cleaner sound then this little guy will probably not be able to keep up. Check out our 40W or the 15W tube amp. Even though it is less power, the tube output is much louder than solid-state amps.

If it is just another one or two folks playing in a room with similar size amps it should be fine.
I play with 2 others that have similar sized amps in a large room and it works fine and plenty
loud at medium volume level and probably would even higher. The clean channel stays
clean. We play medium rock like Tom Petty, sometimes bit heavier and R&B stuff.

will this amp work with a bass too?
A shopper
on Jul 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in this amplifier. While not recommended, yes you can use this amp for a bass. Great care needs to be taken so you do not damage the speaker. As a small practice amp for working out bass chops start with volume very low. change setting slowly until you hear too much distortion. If you use with headphones there is no issue. A little distortion on the bass is kinda fun.

i don't think so. I wouldn't recommend trying it, either. Guitar amp circuitry and wattage, along with signal peak/impedance are set specifically for guitar and NOT bass. Although, if you tried to plug a guitar into a bass amp, it'd work, but not the other way around...you'd run the risk of frying the amp

no a guitar amp will not work for a bass. a bass requires a lower frequency response and unless the amp is specifically designed as a combo amp with a different woofer and set of crossovers all you will typically get is buzz or maybe very poor sound. if the unit is designed as a combo amp it will typically have a selector or set of controls for the bass clearly marked.

Could you use this as a keyboard amp?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you technically could. I would use the bass amp instead since the speaker will better handle the full range frequencies of the keyboard. With a little too much volume you will pop this one easier.

I believe it stated a direct line out (not the headphone) is this the case and if so Im assuming its a 1/4" jack on the rear panel.....2nd? Does this one have an effects loop which would certainly not be a deal breaker if not but just curious. 3rd?? Does this one have a Footswitch jack for the overdrive? Certainly not a deal breaker 2not just curious. Lastly,, does this have that xtra tone type knob like the 40 watt one has...its like an xtra eq or like the blackstar iso knob which can blend an american drive with a british type tone ordrive. This is slong with the normal bass mid and treble pots. Now o know the big brother (40 watt) has it And a real reverb tank (Bravo) but Im asking about that extra iso like US/UK tone knob???? OH question bout big brother 40 watt. Does that one have a direct line out 1/4" on the rear panel. Im sorry as I can be all these questions....only planned to ask the first few bout the 20 watt. Please forgive me

The picture shows an FX loop on the back panel of this 50 watt tube amp. Might want to change this answer. When selling product you want the best representation of the product that you are selling. So unless you are posting pictures of one amplifier but ship something totally different from the picture, you may want to fix the staff written reply please?

There is a Headphone out (small phone plug) that you can plug into speakers and an Aux (in or out?) that I haven't used, also a small phone plug. It has an extra Tone control plus Vol and Gain. That's all I know. I like the tone...

BEST ANSWER: I'm not an expert...but I think for that to work, the mic would have to have it's own "power". Normal XLR/Analog condenser mics use 48v "phantom power" usually obtained by a mixer with built in phantom power in my experience.. I don't think there's enough power to drive a mic along with the guitar. I can see a cheap 2 or 4 channel mixer being put in the mix there to achieve your goal. Again, just trying to help but NOT an expert.

It may work. Probably better is no splitter and dual input mixer. Just a splitter might work but if you turn the speaker volume down it might turn guitar and mic down together. But there's also adjustment on the guitar which might make it work "okay", again probably just not ideal.

This would make a good practice amp, but you're not going to the the lows you need for your floor tom and bass drum. But for $50, this thing is a steal!

Great Amp
Very nice and sturdy amp. 20W is plenty loud. The only negative I would say about this amp is the overdrive is over amplified? Not sure what the correct term is, but I barely set it to 3 on a scale from 1-10 and it sounds overpowered already. Obviously you can adjust for it, so not a big deal.
Overall, bought it as a combo and it is definitely worth the buy.

nice amp for the money, but will need mods
The amps circuitry is very nice tonally, however its speaker and 3 band eq need improvement. if you get this amp, know that the speaker is too bassy and high pitches are awful.
so if you replace the speaker and play around alot with the eq till its acceptable. its a nice tone overall.
cabinet construction is solid.
gets loud if you want.
good beginner amp or for others with the speaker upgrade.
I put a jensen special design in mine, nice tones.

Good practice amp
I ordered this amp with a guitar the amp is solid but after using it a few days I was shopping for an upgrade. The build and features are nice for an amp at this price. I would recommend if you are on a budget, but if you have more to spend there are better options.
