Can I use this with a piano for extra sound?
BIJU J
on Jun 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This amp will work for your piano. The bass end will be a little weak but it will do as a battery powered unit. I would use the 3.5mm input on the back. This is a stright inout to the power amplifier meaning the top controls are bypassed so your keyboards volume is the only way to set volume. This will free up the main input to be used for a mic or guitar.

There are two inputs, the main input, which is mono, so you will have to convert the keyboard outputs from stereo (your keyboard could have two mono 1/4" jacks, or it could have one stereo (called a TRS 1/4" jack), but probably the former. In one case, you can connect just the left channel 1/4" jack to the amp input, which may only amplify the left channel. Some keyboards sum the left output to both L and R, some don't. If you need both channels of the keyboard out, you can purchase a 1/4" stereo to mono 1/4" adapter, not too expensive. I'd try just plugging in the Left channel to the amp input first, to see if that works for you. Consult your keyboard manual, search online if you don't have one.
The other input to the amp is on the back (Aux in) is a stereo mini TRS jack for plugging in MP3 players and such.
Doubtful your keyboard has one, maybe the headphone output could be a stereo mini. The summing of the L and R channels are done in the amp, a mini jack cable is supplied with the amp, so this may be an option.
Good luck, this is a very convenient and good sounding amp at lower playing levels. Have fun with it...

This is more of a portable guitar practice amp. That said, Yes. it will give you extra sound If it is an acoustic piano you will need a microphone. If it's an electric piano, just plug it in. Two things to remember. It only has 10 watts, so it's not going to fill a big room. In other words, you can't use it to play in a band. The other thing is that it only has a 5 inch speaker. It's not set up for a lot of bass. The piano spans 7 octaves. The lower notes will not be reinforced nearly as well as the mid range and high notes. If I were playing in an auditorium or outside, I would want to use something more in the range of 50 watts , with a 12 inch speaker, so my audience could hear the full range.

can you plug in a microphone and guitar together?
A shopper
on Aug 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You could "Y" a guitar and mic into the main input. You will have to use the guitar's volume to adjust volume relation between the guitar and the vocal. A better solution will be to front-end the mic with a small mixer and plug in to the amp via the 3.5mm connection on the back. This way you can use the drive and tone controls of the amp for you guitar without it effecting the tone of the vocal.

I am not sure you can... There is one 1/4 plug input for a standard guitar chord, and that input runs through the master knobs (gain, volume, treble, bass). There is a mini-pin auxiliary input on the back of the amp with a separate volume mini-pot for like plugging in the headphone output of a phone.

No. You can only plug one instrument into this amp. You might use a (Y) adapter. This would let you plug a guitar and a mic. The amp only has one input.

Can you use it? Yes.
Is it a good choice? Probably not.
With the small wattage and closed back, I doubt you need to worry about blowing the speaker out. So yes, you can use it. It would be a perfectly fine choice for a portable practice amp.
However, the 5" speaker will not put out a "thumping" bass note or make itself heard over an aggressively played standard guitar played on an identical amp. So, I would not recommend it for performance purposes.
On the other hand, I cannot recommend a battery powered alternative at anywhere near this price point that offers a better choice. The others are just toys.

The amp is really designed for guitar. It does have a sealed back like a bass amp, but you would probably need to put in a different 8 ohm speaker. However that may void the warranty. For guitar I run the treble pretty high and the bass and little more than half way, so with a little speaker upgrade it should have the ability to produce reasonable bass notes in a small room setting. There are, however, some battery powered bass amps available ..... you just need to look around. My 40 plus years experience tells me to just use this as a great little guitar amp only.

We've used it with bass guitar at our back porch jam sessions and I was surprised that it was able to handle the low notes as well as it did. As others have noted, due to the small speaker, it's far from ideal, but for a battery operated portable amplifier with a relatively small speaker (especially for bass) it did OK, but naturally, guitar sounded better through it. Well crafted amp at this price point.

Yes. It works fine with a bass. But it is not optimized for low frequency so you need to keep the volume down a bit. The speaker is of good quality and does not rattle. You can get a practice amp that is optimized for bass but you will pay a lot more for it than you will for this one.

I believe it can. I bought it to use for a microphone, but to amplify a harmonica. I did test it with voice and it works very nicely. The microphone I use on it has an XLR jack, and I connect it to the amp using an XLR-to-1/4" TR cable. If you intend to use it for public address, a cardioid-pattern dynamic mike would probably be best, as it would pick up less interfering sound from directions other than towards your own mouth. The one I use was part of a set with a particular blues harmonica, and is no longer available.

Yes, I have tried it already. A low impedance with the 1/4 transducer adapter actually works pretty well. It also works well with my Taylor acoustic electric guitar. You can even use a bass guitar if you don't turn the bass past the half way point. It's not really loud, but has a good sound for what it is. I've owned tons of equipment, and would recommend this product without any reservations.

BEST ANSWER: To be honest with you the amp is tiny lunchbox style. If you are looking for a small portable lunchbox amp then this for you. But if you're expecting something big like a 20 watt amp or bigger with a 1x10 speaker look elsewhere. The picture might not be accurate but it's a picture that most likely has been photoshopped. Maybe read the dimensions and go by that measurement. Pictures can be altered just remember this amp goes to 10 not 11. Get a marshall for that lol

As this amp is rated at what I’m assuming is 10 watts RMS, that means it’ll require approximately 1.12 amperes of current at a minimum at the 9 volts the batteries will nominally provide (since no amp is 100% efficient, the current required will actually be more like 1.5 amperes). That’s a good deal of current if the amp is played cranked, for 6 AA batteries to generate. How long do the batteries last before the clean tones get fuzzy on their own and the volume starts to drop off on its own?

It's OK, could be better
I find the "clean" sound is very weak, almost like the harder you hit a string, the quieter the sound. Can't quite figure that out. Hardly worth even trying it on the clean sound. The distortion sound is more what I'm going for. Not the greatest distortion sound I've ever heard, but it could get you by for just screwing around I guess. As far as the battery operation goes, in this modern era of rechargeable devices, I'd rather have a built-in rechargeable battery that automatically charges when you use the amp plugged into the wall.. As it is, I'm going to have to go out and buy fresh batteries every time I want to use it or get a whole rechargeable AA battery setup just to get full use out of this.

The Amp works great with my Harmonicas. I play in a band and when my turn came to take the lead they could not hear me . The little Amp fixed that. Thank you.

Big Sound in a Small Package
I am very pleased with the overall sound of this tiny amp. It is able to keep most of the guitar's low end intact. It's also decently loud for what it is. I bought it to keep in my garage to test and troubleshoot pedals and it is serving me very well.

Great little amp, great little price
I bought this for my granddaughter, but I got a chance to play with it a little. Seems like a good little amp?plays loud enough and has a nice clean tone as well as great distortion. For the price you can?t go wrong.

Indio 10 amplifier
The indio 10 amp that I received was flawless. It's construction is very solid. The clean channel doesn't color the sound but has treble/bass control for EQ. I don't use overdrive so I can't comment. That would be subjective to someone who does. It may be a sound that you've been looking for or you may hate it. I find that effects that I do not like work in certain situations. Also plug in a Mpow Bluetooth receiver and you have a Bluetooth speaker and with batteries it's portable. In my opinion this is a good value for the price.

great amp, minor quality control issues.
Sounds awesome, great little practice or camping/picnic amp.
Ours had a improperly bent battery contact that made battery install impossible. We were able to bend the contact to get it working but battery install is still a pain.
(this was bought at 2x the price from a local store ... but i did check that it is indeed this item) ((I'm sure if i bought it through monorprice they would have taken care of me... they always have))
