This is full sized. I bought one a few months ago and it is a good guitar. Feels good and sounds good. Well worth the price!

Also plays and sounds like an American made stratocaster. You will be pleasantly surprised. Fit and finish are excellent.

Does it include the whammy bar?
A shopper
on Feb 3, 2019
Just confirming that both Indio guitars I purchased from Monoprice included whammy bars. The hex keys are also included for adjusting action as well as the truss rod.

Mine included the whammy bar. I heard of one instance where the whammy bar was not present.

What are the differences with this and the $99 version?

BEST ANSWER: The HSS models have a humbucking pickup in the bridge position. This pickup gives you a little fatter tone and a little more output.

It depends on what kind of music you were into. If you’re more into blues or country,, I I would get the $99 one. But if you’re more into modern rock, I would get this one.

Will a fender/squire pick guard fit on this guitar??
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: These are 11-hole pickguards. Not sure how the fender/squiers are set up but if you look for 11-hole you'll be good.

What's the neck radius?
A shopper
on Oct 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I don't have a radius gauge, but Darrell Braun measures 12" radius on his Indio Strat (albeit SSS) on his YouTube channel. I concur that it feels pretty flat.

Is this HSS GUITAR resemble the strat or a Telecaster???
A shopper
on Apr 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This one resembles a Stratocaster
Having that Wawa bar on it complicates things a bit. You may be happier with the Indio classic that resembles a telecaster. I’m very happy with mine.

Great beginner or project guitar
This is a good little guitar, for this price it is well done. However get ready to do some work on it, the fret sprout is really bad I had to file down the fret ends on every single one and on both sides. So watch it when you unwrap it don't slide your up and down the neck you will wind up with a slashed hand and fingers. Electronics are as you would expect very cheap. But the action was very good right out of the box, nice gig bag its actually a padded one its a great beginner or project guitar worth the price.

Amazingly good right out of the box!
Some are completely happy with this out of the box. For me, I got far more than I paid for, beats a bullet strat hands down with better pickups and much better choice of wood cuts for the fret board. A little clean up on the fret ends is expected but you'll barely need to dress them. I very lightly filed the fret ends, trued the neck, adjusted the trem springs, stretched the daylights out of the strings, tuned, adjusted the pitch intonation string by string (after measuring/adjusting string clearance) Great guitar to learn on.

Worth the money.
The guitar is great! It’s my second Indio guitar and is great for a beginner like me. The only reason I’m giving it 4 instead of 5 is that my guitar came with a damaged spot. It’s a sad blemish on an otherwise good instrument.

Great customizable guitar
Great guitar to modify. Everything is pretty much plug and play I did not need to modify anything except for resizing some holes on the pickguard for the tone and volume knobs. Would prefer an actual rosewood fingerboard or at least seal the maple with a gloss but for the price, you can't beat it. Would definitely buy again.

Upgraded Seymour Duncan pickups, electronics, bridge & tuners. Better than Fender mexi-strat 4 less

Very strange experience
Monoprice does pretty well with some products but this was not one of them.
Good stuff:
-neck pocket tight
-paint excellent
-fret ends well filed
Bad things:
-Frets are TINY. Like the smallest Ive seen since 60s department store guitars.
-not a good mod platform: replacement pickguards do not fit.
-zipper in gig bag is very flimsy /
mine failed and guitar almost fell out.
-almost no specs are listed (neck profile, tonewoods used, etc.)
Curious if these problems exist in their higher-priced models.
The worst part:
Dont try to contact them / ask questions, you will get nowhere.

Incredible
No idea how Monoprice makes a profit off of some of the stuff they sell. This guitar is a perfect example. It looks and plays like something in the $300-400 range.
