BEST ANSWER: Mine is a two piece body, but the joint is very subtle. In this case “solid ash” means that it isn’t made of laminate/plywood. For context, Leo Fender used one, two, or three piece ash or alder bodies, and plenty of reputable builders even use 4 piece bodies with veneer tops and backs. With solid colors it is even less obvious, and some people believe that glued joints are stronger than single piece bodies. So long as it is resonant and stable, the number of pieces isn’t a huge concern—especially if the builder book-matches well (as is the case with most of these Indios).

No. In the one I have, it is 3 pieces of solid ash glued together to form the body (looks great imho). The body is not chambered. It does not have any cap. For example, a Les Paul can have 2 or 3 pieces of mahogany glued to make the body, then have a maple cap on top. It may or may not be chambered , depending on the model.

Yes, the body on our Indio is fabricated from a single piece of ash. As you are probably aware some guitar manufacturers glue together several pieces of wood to form a laminate which then becomes the guitar body. However, Indio takes the extra step and fabricates the body from a single piece of ash. Hope this helps..

No, it means it's not a hollow body. I ordered one that had a defect and had to exchange it. It was actually a two piece body. The replacement was one piece. So it can be a one piece, but that's not guaranteed.

No it can be multiple peices glued together and be solid. The areas for the pickups are then routed out for them to be installed.

Is the body a nitro or poly finish?

BEST ANSWER: It seems like a standard poly finish. Had a little fret sprout but really a pretty good guitar for the price, if you get one with a straight neck. First thing you should do is adjust the neck if necessary and put a straightedge on it or at least site down the neck. if it isn't good send it back and get a replacement. Everything else is secondary.

I expect it's a poly finish. You wouldn't expect to see a Nitro finish, which can require a dozen coats, on a guitar in this price range. The poly is more durable.

BEST ANSWER: I haven't weighed mine but I'd say it's every bit of 12lb/5.5kg or more as others have stated. It's easily the heaviest guitar I own including several mahogany solid bodies. I'm sort of startled every time I pick it up but I'm beginning to like it for that reason. It's part of the character of the guitar.

The specs show 350 mm fretboard radius, is this correct? If so that would be 13.77 inches which is flatter than a modern strat which is 9.5 inches.

BEST ANSWER: I've never measured this. But being a finger picker I can tell that it sure seems a bit flatter than my American strat.. It just feels more comfortable finger picking though the radius isn't real noticeable as being like what I'd consider a "fat neck". Hope that helps a little.🎸✌️

i just took a measurement at the 4th fret and the Radius Guage that fits is the 14 i also changed the Nut and tree's with the graph nut and tree's. hope this will help you. i really like this guitar.

I'm no expert but it seems to measure out as 12. inch radius. I compare it to my other strat which has a 9.5 inch radius and it is flatter.

BEST ANSWER: YES. The one I received is beautiful. Very glad I paid a little more to get the ash body. I did perform a setup on mine. It needed it. YouTube video will guide you through that. It isn't hard to do. I play mine a lot, and I have other guitars that cost a whole lot more. Glad that I bought one of these.

Does the guitar use a flat bottom slotted guitar nut or a slotted guitar nut with an alignment notch? I know one of the upgrades I want to perform on the guitar is to replace the ABS nut to something a bit smoother for tuning stability. However, there appears to be two styles used on Strat and Teles - flat bottom, or with a notch. Thanks for your help in advance!

Keep your expectations in check and put a smile on your puss
I love this thing... right out of the box, it sounds good-enough. Of course I'm gonna mess with it, so do what you will. New strings immediately, but otherwise it's playable with some adjustments or just beat it to death as-is. Smilingly.

I've bought Monoprice guitars before, this one was a lemon. I returned it.
The bridge was up, I couldn't ajust it down and still have the trem work properly.
Very rough neck, and bad setup. I'm a little disappointed because, the other guitars I bought from them were were the cheaper Cali and really very good. With that in mind, I'd just a soon buy the cheaper on and mod it.

Solid guitar
Got the cherry sunburst. The downside of the guitar: The guitar is heavy, but I knew that based on reviews. Slight buzz on one string. The tuning pegs offer little resistance, so the guitar gets out of tune a little more frequently than desired. The whammy bar setup feels a bit cheap. The positives are that the parts are mid-level quality for low quality price. Everything works. The guitar came setup pretty well. Frets seem consistent. Finish is beautiful. Most importantly, the sound is nice. You can't beat the price for the quality you get. Guitars at this price are typically toy-level.

solid instrument, but...
I have the Tele version of this guitar and love it - well made, good sound. I got this Strat version recently on sale. I doubt any sort of luthier even looked at it, much less set it up. I can do setup work so that's OK (and the price was right), but someone else buying one might not be so happy about how it played when first received.
Probably weighs between 10-12 lbs, nice finish/grain, neck might be a bit wide/clubby if you are used to Fenders and the low output pickups sound good (just not loud). A good value.

I am very happy with this
only needed minor setup, a little more filing of the fret ends, and the frets were already polished and leveled. I love the rosewood neck. I have nothing to complain about. I will add locking tuners and possibly a pickup swap, however the stock pickups sound very good.

REALLY nice!
I'm giving this guitar 5 stars because for the money you can't ask for better. Sure you may need to do some setup. You may want to do upgrades but this is the case with any budget or midrange guitar. I'm quite happy with it as it is but if I choose to upgrade later I will still come out way ahead. On the heavy side as it is ash, the sustain is really impressive. Tuning stability is rock solid. As is or as a modding platform you really can't lose!
