1/4 inch cord connecter for Indio Calais?
A shopper

Cord connector? It's called an instrument cable. Yes 1/4 is the standard output jack size on guitars and input jacks on amps. Effects pedals as well.

I ordered one in solid sky blue on Feb 27, 2022. The picture on the web site was of a solid sky blue. I unexpectedly received a blue burst. If both are available, the web site needs to be updated to show both the solid sky blue and the blue burst. The customer should be able to choose which one they want.

This is a blue burst so the color transitions from a light blue acound the pickguard and then transitions to a darker shade of blue. It's very attractive in my opinion. Check out youtube as they have some reviews of this model with the blue burst.

You can see by the picture that the outside edges are a darker blue. They mix white in for the burst. I got one. It's not dramatic enough to be called a "Burst" ; but it is two toned. It's not solid blue...

Adjust the neck and/or the bridge. Lòk up one of the many "set up" videos for strat style guitars. You may have buzz unamplified but is it gone when amplified? I would also recommend replacing the plastic nut

It depends. Could need a neck adjustment.... Not as hard as it sounds.... Or just raising the string height. Necks move, so it is best to see if needs a truss rod adjustment.

Bought 2 of these (in 2020) for modding, and if they have "10s" I'll eat them. They seem to be a curious mix of "super extra light", on the GBE strings ( 8-10-15) and "super light" on the EAD strings (24-32-42). Maybe they changed them at some point. Makes them easier to play, so they have that going for them.

The guitars can be set-up very low but it needs to be done by an experienced guitar tech or a person with ample knowledge of truss rod, bridge and nut adjustments. I do all of that myself.

For mine, I replaced all the metal and electronic parts, but I’m a fanatic.

between 1 3/4" and 2", It's exactly the same as a real strat. It's got curved edges so I can't measure exactly. I was a teenager in the sixties and I had two strats. When monoprice decided to do a replica, they went to the sixties. Even the things which I thought needed improvement were copied 100%

BEST ANSWER: Clearly, end-users like me have no particular insight on this issue. Monoprice sources these guitars and knows what is available hile i can only speculate, However, i can offer a practical solution. At these (ridiculously low) prices, you could buy a blue one and a sunburst (as i did or you could opt for the black model) and swap out the necks. The maple neck WILL look weird on a 'burst or black body, sure, but the resulting FrankenAxe would make a fine holiday gift for an aspiring musician who needs an introductory-level instrument.

What size allen wrench is needed for the truss rod? I know it comes with one, but I've misplaced it and need to replace it.

It's 22 full frets with the remaining last one NOT counted, so it's a short neck.

Are the necks on all the Cali Classics the same shape (obvious some are rosewood and others maple)? The white one I just received has a pretty thick neck (Almost a thicker U), but a reviewer for the blue version notes a very thin neck. I'd prefer a Modern C neck like on the DLX and was wondering if a different color would give me that.

I took a chance and ordered a Sunburst as my first Monoprice guitar. I'm so happy with it, and I must say that it has about the very best neck size and shape I've ever played. I am hedging about buying a White one because I'm afraid the neck won't have that same feel. Hope that returning it if it doesn't is not a problem, because I want to be as happy as I was with the Sunburst.

Definitely a beginner's guitar.
Just doesn't feel right. I know it's a cheap guitar but I expected more.

Value is good
Lets start with this: Don't expect a $500 guitar. It's not. It is a very good value for the money.
Do you not own a Strat style guitar? Strat curious? This guitar is a great way to see if that style suits you. It hits all the points you should expect.
As to the guitar itself, there are some drawbacks. You'll need to expect to do a bit of fretwork if you want to make the guitar play better than it's price. Nothing serious, but you should expect 3-4 high frets. This is my second Indio. Both had some high frets to work on.
The one drawback you'll probably want to deal with immediately is the string trees. I spent $10 on some roller string trees and it helped the tuning stability IMMENSELY. Unlike some strat-ish guitars, you can't remove the string trees. There just isn't enough angle in the headstock. You need the trees, and you probably need better trees immediately.
Bottom line here is that it's a good guitar for the money, and it's a nice platform to mod up. It's not ready to compete with a real strat, but as budget guitars go, it's a notable entry.

Indio Cali Classic Strat
I purchased this guitar a little while back and was amazed at the quality for the price. The color is awesome and it plays very nicely.
I'm sure I'll purchase another one soon.

Great starter guitar.
Nice starter guitar. You can't go wrong for the price. Anything beyond a starter will need some work. Sharp fret ends (to be expected), very low level hardware and electronics. You can do some really worthwhile upgrades for under $100 and make it a very respectable guitar. The bag alone is worth nearly half of what you'll pay if catch a sale.

needs work
Guitar looks good and is playable but has many sharp frets overhanging the edges of the fingerboard. The deluxe version would probably be worth the added cost just to avoid needing extra work.

Can't complain good mod project platform
I got this for an insanely low price on sale. The guitar looks great, very nice finish. It needed a good set up fortunately I can do that myself. I filed the fret ends, leveled and polished the frets, and now ifs fine.
It's going to be a mod platform. I will strip off the finish and redo in nitro, then relic it, tex-mex pups, new wiring and locking tuners.

Awesome ST Style Guitar
When it arrived, I was impressed with the fit and finish. I smoothened out the fret ends and polished the frets. Replaced the tuners with locking tuners and replaced the Tremelo block with a heavy brass unit. The stock pickguard was replaced with a triple humbucker in single coil package configuration. The volume and tone pots are push/push to allow coils splitting. Orange drop tone caps. Wow very nice playing and sounding guitar. Very Highly recommend!

Good entry guitar for the money!
I knew what to expect, but it was much better!! As a guitar tech, after some fretwork and tweaking of the electronics, it plays very well. Great modding platform! Neck and body are both solid! I would definitely order again.
