You spin the whammy bar counter clockwise until it comes off. Its threaded into the guitar like a screw.

It comes with it not installed. It just screws into the bridge. It’s easy to switch out as needed.

How well do these mini guitars intonate, so that actual basic cords sound like chords? The 3/4 scale mini guitars (of even major name brands) are widely known for not being able to produce a in tune guitar chord. Than You.

BEST ANSWER: Using heavier strings really helps with intonating short scale instruments. Using 11's feels like 9's on a full size 'caster

is there a left handed version?

BEST ANSWER: I don’t believe there is. But you can turn it upside down and flip the strings so that they are placed correctly. See Jimi Hendrix for a prime example of what I’m talking about.

I wonder what they did with the nut to accommodate the strings. The filing at the lower you will be way too big for the hoodie and vice versa.

Wish you did a mini Offset, like a mini OS 20. ?
A shopper
on Nov 8, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I have not bought a mini offset OS 20 yet. I do have the full size OS30 - and I love it. The Mini Cali is one of the best mini-guitars in my collection - and I have at least 20 versions of small, 3/4 scale, or smaller, electric and acoustic guitars in my collection. The maple neck, the tremolo feature, and the combined single coil and humbucker pick-ups make this guitar unique in its genre. Thanks for the tip - I will look to buy the mini OS 20.

Fun little 22 inch scale.
Cool little guitar. I'll probably give it to a grandkid. It is very MINI a bit too mini for a guy my size. Sounds great with the stock pickups. Still all in all a good solid little guitar.

A great mini, or short scale guira
I have more than 10 mini guitars and the Indio is my favorite. It combines more features than any of the others I have and the finished are great. The maple neck pairs with both a single coil and humbucker pickups, and a tremolo feature. Comes with an adorable small gig bag too. Wish I had bought two of them before they went out of stock.

Very Pleased
Four stars takes into account both the quality and the price. Generally, I'm very pleased....well worth the modest price. It does need some work: the fret ends are a little rough and the intonation needs tweaking. I down tune some strings so will be putting heavier strings (11-54) on it. This is my second Monoprice electric. Thank you.

Nice little guitar
It took me a little while to warm up to this guitar. It just didn't grab me, and I had issues getting it to stay in tune. After a string change and further playing with the intonation it's much better, and I'm starting to love playing it. I like short scale length guitars mostly for the easy bending/vibrato, and this one's no exception. I prefer single coils, but the bridge pickup on this sounds acceptably twangy. Shortly after I bought this I was given another mini-Strat, the only one I've seen that has all the details of a normal sized one - SSS, tremolo, all three knobs - and I really like that one too but this one sounds a little different and plays maybe a little better (better tuners mostly). I was thinking of returning it, but I like it enough to keep.

Surprisingly Functional for the Price!
I recently picked up this instrument to serve as my ?travel guitar? as I frequently play on the streets of LA (as part of a music ministry) and feel safer keeping my PRS at home. The Mini Cali does take some getting used to given the shorter scale length, but adjusting to this took me only a few minutes. Tone is also fairly nice for the price and is most definitely superior to similar priced models from Glarry. The same is true of the frets. Fortunately, my copy had relatively well manicured fret ends, though I have heard from others that the edges may be sharp and require filing on some. For $99, I personally feel that it is a decent quality instrument once you have performed a setup.

Not too bad for the price!
Nice looking guitar.
Needs work to repair sharp frets and buzzing.
If you are handy and can do the repairs yourself it is a good starter for the beginner.

Much better than expected
Purchased this for my seven year old son after he showed interest in grandpa's Testadura Archtop. Figured it might need a little tune up, setup, and string change so I brought it up to his shop. Grandpa was really impressed by how good it was out of the box so he hooked it in to his amp and started jamming on it. He liked it so much he decided he wanted one too as it was just the right size to throw in a suit case and take where ever.
