Great Acoustic Guitar for price. Nice craftsmanship, Well setup, Nice sound.
Quite impressed with both the build quality and Luthier setup. For this price it's a steal.
The built in tuner is flawless in its calibration, and end result.
Neck has nice workmanship, with rolled edge, nicely polished frets.
Can't find any buzzing anywhere on neck.
Harmonics at 12th fret low/high E strings are DEAD ON PERFECT
Finish is nearly flawless.. With only a little too much binding scraping ONLY at neck joint area.. Which only shows upon angle of light reflection as a dip/grove in clear coat, parrallel with binding. (REALLY minimal and barely noticeable) the rest of the binding/finish is perfect. Even at nut area, looks perfect.
The pickup works great.. Bass, Mids, Trebble controls are nice to have.
All in all... I purchased this guitar because I was thinking about trying to start playing again after some 20 years away due to arthritis in hands setting in (38 years in construction lol) I didn't want to invest much only to find out it was wishful thinking. But missed playing so much (been playing Guitar since about 12-13 yrs old).. That I decided to take a chance.. Especially since my research into natural joint health supplements seems to be doing me some good.
Couldn't be more pleased the minimal investment turned out to be not only a great move.. But made even more pleasant by the realization of just what I was getting for that minimal investment.
A Well crafted.. Well setup... Great sounding, STEAL of a Guitar.
I read one review that said. "Its like buying a decent gig-bag.. And getting a FREE Guitar with it" ?? that about sums it up.
Highly recommended. Not only for beginners and those on a tight budget who still want something decent for their hard earned money,... But even great for people who've been playing for years.. And want an extra for taking places you wouldn't DREAM of taking Your arm and a leg expenditures.. lol. Like Martin, Gibson, or Fender. (Like camping, sitting around the campfire.. etc.)
For a $100.00 I could not find a better deal at a pawn shop or even at a friends house. Very playable, great action set up & intonation right out of the box & stays in tune. Great for a starter, intermediate player or for me a camper/travel guitar
I’ve paid thousands of dollars for guitars and listen to me when I say this is a value packed instrument at this price point. The tone, playability and projection is in a much higher price range. If you want to hear this guitar out of the box with no adjustments I posted a video on YouTube. You can find it by searching for this title, “Monoprice Idyllwild Foothill Accoustic/Electric Guitar”. Disregard the bad playing and put some ear buds in and listen to the tone of this instrument.
