Is this keyboard compatible with the latest version of Logic Pro X?

BEST ANSWER: I don't have Logic Pro X, wish I did. I use Bandlab, and it seems to work fine with it. Ive not learned all the widgets and features, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. The price was awesome too!

does this product come included with usb and DC cables or do i need to buy those separate?
A shopper
on Feb 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The keyboard comes with a USB cable, but no power supply. The keyboard gets power thru the USB cable from the computer. I also bought an adapter cable to use with my android tablet. I am pleased that the keyboard does not drain the tablet battery fast, so I have not had a need to buy a power cable. I may find that I will need external power if I use the tablet for extended time.

Win7 & Win10, they are built-in. USB composite device and USB MIDI controller. Have to power-on the keyboard before it's recognized (USB self-powered). USB power is also enough for it to function as a 5-pin DIN MIDI device.

Description says "4-octave", it's 2-octave. Copypasta from the 49 key version perhaps?
James M
on Feb 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We hadn't noticed that before you asked but, yes, they must have Copied the Description from the "49-key" version and Pasted it onto the "25-key" page. So, yes, it is a 2-octave keyboard with full-size keys.
It looks like all the text "above" the "Features" section is the same on both keyboards. The text "below" the "Features" sections seems to correct for each model.

Can you use this on its own powered by a battery? How long is it?
A shopper
on Feb 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, there is an input for 9V power supply if you are going to use it separate from the computer. However, you don't need power if you connect it to your computer through the USB port. The computer supplies the power through the USB. The keyboard is 17 3/8" long. BTW, the USB cable is included with the keyboard.

It is not battery powered; it is powered by a USB (A-B, like a printer) cable or by a 9V DC adapter (not included). It is 17.5 inches long.

Thanks

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your questions. With the use of a Lightning to USB adapter, you would be able to connect this keyboard to the iPad. However, this keyboard will be powered via USB and I do not believe the iPad will be able to accomplish that. It does have the option to use an AC Power Adapter, though it is optional and does not come included.
We would not have a list of compatible MIDI software for this unit. It will use basic MIDI drivers, so should your software support that you should have no problem. I hope this helps.
Feel free to reach out to our technical support team should you have any questions here: www.monoprice.com/help?pn=contact

Hello there
I've read in the manual that the unit requires either USB connection or separate power supply with 9V 1A. How can it be if USB provides 5V 500mA only?
Could you explain this moment, please? Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
Most USB cables will pass 5V power at 2.4A these days.
500mA is much less than 2.5 amps which is why it could use USB cable as a power source.

It’s so cheap, I can’t complain. Great for electronic experimenters.
Five stars for what you get for your money.
Appearance: Dull
Feel: Actually pretty good, the key action is a traditional “synth” feel.
Usefulness: You can’t find another MIDI keyboard with full-sized keys and a real 5-pin MIDI out jack for this little money.
Biggest Con: All the MIDI settings you can manipulate with this keyboard are not stored in memory on this keyboard. You must dump the settings to an external MIDI sequencer/computer. This means even setting the MIDI output channel must be re-done every time you turn on the keyboard.
Bonus: There’s room for a full-sized Arduino Uno board under the left-hand panel…
This keyboard appears to be “worlde” brand, and this Asian musical instrument company seems to know how to get a good keyboard feel by mounting keys on a wood-backed felt strip. But even lower price!
The velocity sensitivity is fine .

Disappointed
Update: had high hopes for this, but it is not well made. A small handful of the keys don't even work unless you smash the crap out of them. The touch sensitivity is, well, rather insensitive (too macro). I like monoprice, but this doesn't live up to the value of other products.

Pretty Good
I have been using this for 2 weeks and its pretty good not very straight forward instructions are very advanced and uses windows generic drivers but works. Decent customization and works. Giving 4 stars due to key feels and takes a little to learn everything after reading manual. Currently use on reaper and I have latency with response using usb connection. Note it does come with usb cable.

Stage Right MIDI 25key
Amazing compact keyboard. Full size keys have a action like way more expensive boards and it's very easy to edit the cc functions. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that it dose not retain the settings, as in velocity or volume after turning it off. Yet it is a great keyboard for such a small price..

Someone has said that both the 49 key and 25 key use the same brain. The 25 is brain dead. Trying to get replacement but am not hopeful
