Will this work with the Yeti Blue Microphone?
Brian A
on Apr 13, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it will. The original threading on it is made specifically for the Blue Yeti, but when screwed off there's a smaller threaded piece that'll fit most microphones

Yes, it will. You just have to unscrew the black piece from the bottom of the microphone holder and insert it into the Blue Yeti. I bought a NEWER Microphone stand very similar to this one.

This stand has a capacity of 2 lbs. but it struggles to hold the 1.2 lb Blue Yeti for very long.

Can a webcam be attached with the provided hardware?

BEST ANSWER: Not really, though if the webcam is small and light enough you could improvise something — with something perhaps as basic as strong masking tape

BEST ANSWER: It should work on any mic as long as you have a clip the right size. The stand is functional but It’s got pretty limited maneuverability and the clip it sits in doesn’t feel super sturdy.

Yes, I use this stand with an MXL 990, which is almost identical in weight to 770, and this arm works GREAT, holds mic's weight easily in all sorts of arm configurations.

Are the springs silent? specially when they age. I am concerned that these scissor type mic desk booms fail to make a silent movement. Usually no lubrication technique solves the problem. What has been your experience with this model?

BEST ANSWER: The best thing is, try not to move the microphone while you're live or recording.
The springs are quiet on mine, especially for small movements. A large swing might cause some noise once in awhile if you're stretching the springs to their extreme, but why would you do that while you're recording?
In general it's difficult to move the mic around very much and be 100% silent. Your hand hand touching the microphone can makes some sound and depending on how big the movement is and how tight/loose the tension knobs are you might get a small sound between the base and the bottom of the stand. But my springs don't make any sound that I can hear.

They are not exactly silent. I would say mine are very quiet and quite unobtrusive for my use case (meetings from home for work and podcasting). I have to really move the arm slowly and stretch the springs to get them to make any noise. They make less noise with brisk movements. Hope this helps.

I've owned the boom for nearly a year. It's still quiet when moving, though one of the four springs gives a small "twang" when I make a large movement.

Product # 600202 I believe will work, but there are XLR mics that definitely work like the LC100

Great stand with a cord long enough to mount it anywhere
Bought this and the Stage Right Condenser mic to get rid of my lavalier mic and cord, and could not be happier. The integrated cord is long enough for me to mount the stand anywhere I want on my desk, and the arm has enough flexibility for me to move it however I may need to get it in front of my face.,

Old design, but simple
Nothing spectacular about this design (the arm that is), but it still does its job. I have the same frame for my 20-year-old drafting lamp! I like the addition of the USB power cord (for your mic) - nicely snaked inside the frame. I also like the universal mic connection attachment.

Really really good mic holder
As a teacher doing distance learning, Ive been wanting to make it as good as I can. I already had the USB large condenser mic by monoprice, so, I opted for this version with the cable already integrated. I sat in a meeting with a lot of other teachers and you can hear the difference in microphones. I think it helps kids learn if they can hear well.
In use, I love it. Its so handy to position the mic in front of me while I present to my class or take attendance. And, when I mute it, I can slide it to the side. I like that I know my students can hear me clearly.
The only criticism I have is that the clamp that holds the arm has a loose attachment to the arm. The clamp has a hole about a half inch in diameter and the arm has a round part at the bottom that fits in. A finger knob turns a screw to tighten and hold the arm in place. The hold is okay but the arm rocks in the holder. I suspect this is in order to allow the arm to turn in the clamp. Its not a reason to overlook the arm, though.
I bought another for my wife. She loves it, too. You should buy it.

The price was definitely a selling point for me , overall it gets the job done. but there are some flaws that hurt , the sleeve that holds the arm to the mount is a cheap hard plastic that is not snug. just after a few turns of the arm (use/not use) the sleeve has little indents/ chips in which will only get worse till unable to use. my mic is on a shock mount but any touching of the arm or movement picks up everyhting.
