What's the smallest key board it will suppor?
A shopper
on Sep 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It depends. (That may not be the answer you wanted.) If the width of your keyboard is less than average, you may have to keep the keyboard higher off of the floor than usual. Then you may have to sit on a high stool or stand to play. This can make it harder to use the pedal for sustain. I own 6 keyboard stands of various brands, and there are not appreciable differences among them in the length of the bars or the width of keyboard they will accommodate. If you have 61 or more keys any stand will do. If you have 49 or less is will be an issue. An advantage of this stand from Monoprice is adjustment by teeth instead of holes, giving you finer adjustments in the height. Another advantage is ease of setup. The one I got from Monoprice is my favorite.

Best with a full-size keyboard. I tried to use it with a 49-key MIDI controller and it was too big—width and depth. One issue is that as the stand height decreases, the width increases, so you can only lower it partway with a smaller keyboard.

Not sure, but it is almost infinitely adjustable. I am very happy with it, especially for the cost camped to others I looked at.

It accommodates my Arturia Keylab 49, but would probably not be a good choice for anything smaller.

Will this stand work well with a 61-key midi controller while sitting down?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. The height adjustment doesn't rely on friction and is better than most stands.

Could get too wide if you are sitting on a low bench and your keyboard is narrow. I use an 88 key unit and it sits fine sitting or standing. For heavy units you might want to fashion some sort of tie down for your individual keyboard.

Yes it should, I have used it with my Axiom if you want to compare the specs. I especially love that the way the lock is set up you can make small adjustments rather than having 6-8 presets, which is ideal for sitting at your keyboard.

I wasn't comfortable in a seated playing position. There's no space for my knees. Most double-X stands are offset a bit for this reason, this one isn't..

This stand will work well with a 61 key model playing while seated. The bars will be near the edge of the keyboard, but it will still be secure.

Can this hold a 88 key piano keyboard? Yamaha P 45
A shopper
on Oct 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can. The only issue with size of keyboard would be if you want to put a short keyboard, like a 49-key, low to the floor. The bars would be too far apart. Because of the double frame, this stand is strong enough to hold an 88-key.

Is there a button that needs to be depressed to adjust stand height? We have one borrowed from a school and a handle is mostly broken off. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: There's no button. There's a handle at the pivot point of the stand which compresses locking teeth together. Pull handle out to adjust height, then clamp the handle back down to lock.

It’s a spring loaded handle you pull outwards, and it has teeth on the inside that lock in place for adjustments. It is a very sturdy stand, we are very pleased with ours!

I need a stand that will adjust to an outer width of 20 1/8" to fit a stand attachment I made for another stand. Can anyone let me know if that is one of the available widths, or something close? Maybe I can change my attachment a bit.

Max height listed in specs is 26.2 in (92 cm). They are inconsistent. Is there a typo and should the max height be 36.2 in?

Great, just needs to get shipped on time.
Lighter than I expected but works great for supporting my Pioneer DDJ-1000 in its flight case. Build quality seems fine.
Took way longer than expected however to get shipped due to "warehouse backups". Was unable to use this for the event I needed it for. Don't bank on fast shipping

I Bought Two!
This is one sturdy stand, and the locking adjustable spread setting sets the right support in mere seconds. If you are setting up performance gigs, this will make short work of setting up the keyboardist.
I bought a second one for a very interesting reason. I manage the drone program for a large company, and we have a fixed-wing drone for long range imaging missions. This stand is the perfect support for installing the payload and batteries as well as preflight inspection of the aircraft. So, these are great for keyboard players, but they have so many other uses too.
