Is this intended to mount to vertical 8in x 8in Box Truss? If so, the spacing on the clamps seems to be a bit too wide.

BEST ANSWER: This will mount to the box truss, though not on all sections. It depends on adjusting the movable clamps to the display position that works for you.

Thank you for the reply. My issue is that the fixed position clamps seem to have a width spacing that doesn't quite match up with the main upright tubes of the truss. I might have a manufacturing defect, and am checking with Monoprice for further information.

The mount will work with vertical or horizontal truss. Clamps rotate.

The tube diameter is 1.5" so it is in between F24 and F34. You need to buy 1.5" clamps F24 or F34 will not work.

BEST ANSWER: Consult with a certified or experienced rigger to get trussing flown or mounted. Do not attempt to do any such task by yourself with out the proper certification and training.

BEST ANSWER: Sure, assuming you place a lot of ballast on the plates or clamp or bolt it down. The concern is liability. If someone tipped it over and brained someone else.

Will the separate base that is sold keep this from falling if I have about 40 pounds of lighting attached to it? Also close to the top I want to put a 25 pound moving light so that would be most of the weight.

I would be making an aerial rig out of this in a goal post shape, is this the best way to do so and and how much weight can this support? Since this will be a free standing aerial rig, I need to make sure this wont tip over. Is this truss the best option?

Probably worth the money?
It's pretty alright stuff, especially for the price. Very unstandardized though, some sticks only line up with certain others, because the hole spacing is so irregular. Good for simple totems though!
