How do you separate the keyboard sliding tracks from each other? I’ve already put them on the keyboard tray. Do I need to remove them to separate by pressing an unseen button so I can attach one part to the desk and it’s other half to the keyboard tray?
The directions shows them already separated but mine came intact.

BEST ANSWER: There is a small black lever (doesn't look like much - very thin) that you depress to release the inner piece. Took me awhile to figure it out too. I wish I could get you a picture to make it easier, but I believe the lever was on the inner black piece of the track

I had the same issue but there's a gray plastic tab/lever that you push down to release the two sections. You can find videos pretty easily on YouTube. The directions should have at least illustrated this.

I did mine about 6 weeks ago, and if I recall right, there is a tab on one of the pieces (of the two) you have to depress to slide the other out.

There's a small plastic lever on the leading edge of the inside piece. Took me forever to realize that.

One of the questions asked about buying screws for this desk. I thought all hardware was included. Are all hardware included?
A shopper
on Dec 14, 2023
BEST ANSWER: The screws for the rack bays are NOT included. 10/32 size screws available from any hardware store will fit. also the top 1u of the bay is awkwardly blocked by the supports for the riser, and will only fit shallow rack units.

All hardware is included. But if you want to put rack modules in the 2 x 3space racks , you are going to need to buy some rack screws if you don't already have them.

Would it be wise to use the stage right 8’ monitor speakers on the top shelf of this desk?
A shopper
on Nov 12, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Depends on what computer monitor you have in the middle. I have an ultra-wide so I was not even able to fit my 5 in studio monitors next to them. I ordered the clamp on desk stands and clamp them onto the side of the desk so my monitors are further out to the sides

After assembly, Can this be easily disassembled also for moving and re-setup or is that too much to ask?
A shopper
on Nov 7, 2023
BEST ANSWER: It's going to be about as easy to disassemble as if it to assemble, which takes a couple hours by oneself. And with any plywood construction, be careful not to overtighten fasteners and try not to flex any of the fastened areas or else the wood will start to give out. Solid construction for the money though.

What type of rack screws will fit the rack space on this desk?
New User U
on Aug 9, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The holes are not threaded, so the type of screws should not matter, but you just need to make sure that the screws you purchase include a nut or washer, or both.

Do you easily hit your knees on the keyboard tray? It seems rather low at 23" like I would have to reach over the desk rather than slide my whole knees under it like a desk at normal height. I'm kind of tall. Thoughts?

Fantastic value, but...
Really slamming for the money. Easy enough to assemble although the instructions are a tad vague. As other reviewers have mentioned, the sliding keyboard shelf is rather low for anyone 6' or taller. I remedied this with a ripped 2.x4, screwed in with cabinet screws. Not a hard upgrade, but just know that if you're above average it's well worth it.
Still totally satisfied, but knocking a star off for the extra effort required to make this 100%

Raise the desk with ripped 2x4 and cabinet screws.

Best studio desk for the money.
Great studio workstation desk. The only issue is the desk isn't tall enough to get your legs under the keyboard tray. I'm 6 foot.

Best thing in this price range.
Just keep in mind you need to buy your own rack screws. Been using this for about a month and I am perfectly happy with this desk.
Fits everything I need!

Great desk
Love this desk. My only gripe is the top rack space of the 3u is limited to very small depth rack modules, due to their being a piece of wood there that blocks you from access.

I can't quite give this desk a full 5 star review as the directions were really challenging to navigate through. Other than that, the desk seems to be the perfect fit for my space/needs.

Perfect compact studio workstation.
I have been looking for a studio desk to fit my 61 key Roland Fantom workstation. This desk is perfectly sized. I had no trouble assembling it in a couple hours. Still working on setting up my studio but love the desk!

Good desk, poor instructions
The assembly instructions were just wrong, and one piece lacked 2 holes that I had to drill myself. Once I got it put together it worked fine. Wheels would have been nice.
