Will these work with Monoprice 8247 speakers?

BEST ANSWER: The 8247 has spring type connectors meant for bare wire. I would not recommend rigid pins for that application.

How do you attach to speaker wire?

BEST ANSWER: Then end of barrel opposite the plug unscrews and gives you access to opening on the sides of the barrel which accepts the speaker wire.

Unscrew the base, stick the wire in the hole, screw the base back in and tighten against the wire in the hole.

BEST ANSWER: No, you cannot use any plugs on this selector. Screw in bare wires to the terminals. This makes for a stronger connection and less contact points for more signal to your speakers.

Can banana plug ends be inserted instead of bare wire? If not, what product allows banana plug to pin or wire for old fashioned spring clip speaker outputs on a receiver?

Worth Getting
These come with no instructions. The tips were not fully seated. Had to hand tighten the tips.
It does make it easier to attach and detach speaker cables to spring clips on the speaker. Glad I got these and didn't have to pay a lot for them.

Speaker Pin Plugs
These do exactly what I needed, they allow me to easily use speaker wire terminated with banana plugs with an old amp that did not directly accommodate banana plugs (it has the push / spring load-type terminals). Great product.

Good quality but the barrels are big and you'll have to wrap them in electrical tape to keep them from shorting

The plugs are fine but they were only 1/2 of my order. I did not receive the pair of 5975 speaker pin plugs that were also ordered.

You can do better.
The metal shorts if you tough them...they need an insulator on the casing to prevent this. Stay away from this product.
